  • Insurances don't agree, and now I'm being sued for an accident where I was hit by someone cutting into the left turn lane I was stopping in?

Hi. So, I was hit by a young driver who cut the corners of the left hand turn lane and hit me in the front corner while I was stopping. I hadn't even reached the stop sign and he clipped me. The other driver's insurance says it's all my fault, but mine says it's 80/20 on him. My insurance has the police report.

Anyway, the other driver's dad didn't like that answer and now I got served a lawsuit for $6 grand. He was also basically bragging how he has gotten into accidents before and got money out of people because he has a lawyer in his family. So he is being a class A jerk.

Am I screwed? Is there anyway to protect myself? I can barely afford a lawyer and this guy seems like a predator. Aren't insurance company's supposed to handle this? I live in a no fault state and they are lying about the situation. Thanks for any advice.

  • What is the best mobile solution right now for someone who wants to read and write on the go?

Hi there. I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best mobile solution (i.e. iPad, Windows 7 Phone, Kindle) for a guy that wants to be able to read books and write his own book on the go? I want to be able to just go anywhere and write my book and feel comfortable about it, but I also want to be able to read books, and if possible, do other things like listen to music.

Do any of those devices particularly stand out for the uses I'm describing? Comfortable Mobile Word Processing is the key ingredient for me here followed by the ability to read e-books, and then do other things like games, music, and movies. Thanks

  • When I read a book analysis, it makes the authors sound so brilliant. Do authors really think so deep?

    Hi.

I'm an aspiring author and I just read an analysis for the Hunger Games. The book analyst seems to have revealed this whole elaborate scheme on how the author presented the story and characters that seems far deeper than what I saw on the surface. For instance, Rue's name being a plant that heals eyestrain, and Rue making Katniss "see" things. This is deep and I wouldn't have thought of the underlying meaning just by reading. I caught the main theme of the story by reading, and saw what was happening, but book analysts seem to make it sound so much more amazing.

In my story I definitely thought things through before I named my characters. The names do match the character's purpose and theme, but there is so much revealed in that book analysis that makes the author seem brilliant beyond a mere mortal like me.

My question about this is, do you think authors really think every tiny detail out like this, trying to inject a theme into the story under the surface that can only be seen by analyzing the book? Can't authors just write an enjoyable story and can theme just pop up without deep, deep thought and extensive planning? I'm not lazy, I've planned my book out, but making brilliant stuff appear under the covers isn't my goal. I want to tell a story and entertain. Am I wrong to want it this way and do I need to be so cryptically elaborate in my story to succeed?

  • My wife and I fight about friends all the time. Help!?

Hi guys. I need to start out by saying I love my wife and I always try to do whatever makes her happy. I sacrifice a lot for her. I play my video games less, I do things her way since that's what she's comfortable with (Such as doing chores right when I get home from work, rather than rest an hour and then do chores as I am used to), I work hard to change my habits for her. I do at least some housework each day, and I take her out of the house whenever she needs it. I take her out a lot on dates as well and make sure she is taken care of first in bed. In short, I do all I can to make her happy.

However, it never seems enough. She gets upset when I spend 4 hours with my friends on only one night of a week. She says she should be able to see her family the same amount of time I see my friends (I'm not stopping her, they live an hour away, but she can go all day on Friday every week if she wants). My friends are incredibly important to me, not as much as she is, but I need them in my life too. I tell her I'm fine when she wants to go see her friends. Also, it seems to be a cardinal sin if my friends want to see me twice in a week (Which rarely happens anyway).

For instance, this week, I am seeing my friend today, but she's seeing hers tomorrow, and I asked her if I could go see a movie. She'd rather me stay home alone I guess! She says that she feels like she's not as important as my friends, and yet, I spend every other day of the week with and for her. She also things going once a week means "All the time". The crazy thing is, I don't even go every week, I really just want that option. Am I really wrong to want to see friends once a week, and sometimes in a blue moon twice when I try so hard to be a good husband to her? What do you guys and girls think of this situation? Thanks for any thoughts.

  • I'm trying to eliminate debt, but was it dumb to get more into it on black friday to get a great deal?

Hi. I am doing my best to eliminate debt, but I found a great deal on an HDTV on Black Friday (It would have normally cost $1200 but I got it for $799) and I've wanted one for a long time, seeing as all I have is a standard def TV. What complicated my decision is that I want to get married in a few months to my girlfriend and now I'm feeling a bit of regret buying it. I want to keep it, but part of me is telling me that money could be better used. What do you guys think I should do? I haven't opened it yet, so I could still take it back. Thanks.

  • Girlfriend called me late, I was sleepy & said something stupid. Am I sunk?

My girlfriend called me last night and I was really tired. We just went on an 11 hour date on Saturday and it was an amazing date neither of us really wanted to end. So, last night, she brought up it was the longest we've been on and I said "yeah it was awesome. I'm not sick of you and you aren't sick of me, right?" She said nope, and I said it was great and I didn't want it to end.

So, that sounds not so smooth. Think a girl that likes me is going to dump me over saying we're not sick of each other? Thanks for any comforting words.

  • I'm a 30 year old guy just getting into Football, so where can I learn to play it for fun?

Hi. I've never been an athletic or big guy, but I was wondering if, much like other sports, football has leagues to join just to play for fun? I want to learn the game since my interest in sports is just barely beginning. If so, does anyone know of a league in Utah?

I'll probably get slaughtered, but I hope it's not too late to try football in my life. Thanks for any help!

  • Why would my engine hesitate and rumble when I accelerate?

Hi. I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage 4-door. I just got my EGR Valve fixed because my "service engine soon" light turned on and that was supposedly the cause. Now when I sit idle at a red light, my engine vibrates my car sometimes and accelerating feels like gears grinding against each other. Maintaining speed feels just fine, but it seems when I get to higher speeds, I can't get the care to go faster without this freaky rumbling. Any ideas on what it could be? My car was hesitating with acceleration before the fix, but now it's rumbling as well.
