  • Which is the best hoof boot--question for endurance riders?

I have recently gone barefoot on my arab, but ride in very rocky areas. I am looking for the best hoof boot that proves to wear the best through mud, rocks, rivers, and mountain areas. Which of these has the least soft tissue rubbing on the horse? I'm not interested in EZ boots because of the metal barbs that are continuously digging into the side of the hoof wall each time they are put on. (plus they aren't that "EZ" to put on" I have been considering these two brands:

    http://www.all-natural-horse-care.com/renegade-hoo...

    and

    http://www.all-natural-horse-care.com/simple-boot....

Also, anybody have experience with Boa's or Old Mac boots? I would love input from people who have put miles into any of these boots. Thank you

  • If you have a horse with fly allergies?

I own a black quarter gelding who has a bad allergy to midge/fly bites. I try to keep him completely covered during the summer or he will lose his hair and welt up. My question is if anybody has had any success with a feed thru fly control that detours fly's from landing on them. I bored at a barn so the feed thru that kills fly larvae doesn't really work as nobody else is on it.

Also, I know there are inject able allergy medicines, do they need to be given weekly? monthly? please share your experiences with me.

  • Confirmation Critique on a Quarter Horse please?

This is a horse I bought for my husband, registered quarter horse, with alot of Three Bars (thoroughbred) several times in his bloodlines. So I don't know if he would be considered more of a running quarter or not. He's a little over 16 hands and 15 years old. We love him to death and he has turned out to be wonderful (and very durable :-). When we got him i could tell he was a decently built horse enough for our purposes, but I'm curious because I'm not familiar with quarter horse specific confirmation standards.

It is a slide show, but if you could just pause on the stills, you can check it out. I believe the best confirmation shots would be the first pic :03, :19, and :40. Thank you!

  • How can a prospective first time home buyer compete with investors?

I am currently in the market for my first home, but keep being outbid (or "cash bid")by investors. I am pre approved and put in my offer the same day the homes hit the market. I have perfect credit and a solid health care career. Contrary to popular belief I have found that it is practically impossible to get into a home because everybody who cashed out 8 years ago are buying them up for rental property. I'm not hating, but how can I compete with this? Advice will be appreciated.

  • do you need to polarize a negatively ground generator system?

I was told that a negatively ground generator electrical system doesn't require being polarized after changing the battery. Is this true? Why not? Thanks

  • How do you post an extended trot in an aussie? I just bought one and the front rolls seem to interfere.?

I have ridden English and western and I love the comfort of the aussie at the walk, jog and gallop, but in the extended trot my knee's want to be further ahead then the rolls. I have an endurance model syd hill that placed the rolls lower than traditional. Could this be the problem?
