  • How did the planarian vision evolve?

    Planarians have a very simple form of vision, but still not simple enough to come about in one generation. At some point there must have been a species that had some form of eyes, but couldn't pick up any light. What was that species called, and what was the purpose of that evolution?

  • What's the best way to cram for a test?

    I'm not saying that I don't study till the last minute, but the night before a midterm exam, how can i study EVERYTHING in an hour, and still somehow remember it the next day? (aside from writing it in invisible ink on my arm and taping an ultra violet light to my watch)

  • Are there any unopinionated news sites?

    I'm sick of seeing so much biased news, every newspaper, radio station, news channel, and website is biased one way or another, and you never hear the full story. People are labeled as "murderers" and "rapists" before the trial is held, politician's speeches are stripped apart and terms are taken out of context. The front cover of a news paper will have a picture of a toothpick thin celebrity and have a headline on how fat she is, that isn't even news! Do any of you know of any news site that delivers the full unbiased story, without stripping it for it's sensationalist value? If you post a link it would be much appreciated, thanks.

  • Why don't Infrared homing missiles backfire on the jets that launch them?

    How can they tell the difference between an enemy jet-fighter, and an ally jet fighter, or more to the point, the ones that launched them. My understanding is that they lock onto the target, but what stops them from doing a 180 and backfiring?

  • Can you judge my poem? Also, can you tell what it's a simile for?

    To Open A Lock

    The traditional way is to have the right key.

    Otherwise, if your skilled, you can pick the lock;

    And make it think you have the right key.

    Some locks are not so good, and can be opened with a credit card.

    But those locks are not so worth opening.

    Or you could force the lock open.

    But this is not recommended, as you may destroy the lock forever.

    ok so that's it. what do you think? (thanks)

  • How do you change the tint of a movie clip with AS2?

    I know that there is some way to change the colour and tint of a movie clip in AS2, but i'm not sure how to refer to how much green or red is tinted (0-255), if anyone knows how to refer to them, or better yet, how to put it in format ( a quick example of changing the red tint would be fine) it would be much obliged : )
