  • particle moves around circle. How much time to stop?

A particle moves counterclockwise in a circle of radius R = 20.8 m about the origin. At t=0 the particle is at 60 degrees above the positive x-axis and its acceleration is a=-0.417j . The particle slows down at a constant rate until it comes to a stop. How much time does it take for the particle to come to a stop?

    Answer : 13.1s

I dont understand the question because it seems like it just depends on what the initial velocity is, so if you dont want to answer question at least explain how we get initial velocity or why it doesnt matter.

  • velocity physics problem?

The position of a particle moving along the x-axis is given by x=9.25+1.54t^3, where x is in centimeters and t is in seconds. Calculate the following: (a) the average velocity during the time interval from t = 2.00 s to t = 3.00 s, (b) the instantaneous velocity at t = 2.50 s, and (c) the instantaneous velocity when the particle is midway between its positions at t = 2.00 s and t = 3.00 s. Give the value of whichever of these is the largest (in cm/s).

I got 30.03 but thats wrong...

  • physics: instantaneous velocity?

The position of a particle moving along the x-axis is given by x=9.25+1.77t^3

calculate the following and determine which one is the largest:

    (a) the average velocity during the time interval from t=2 to t=3

    (b) the instantaneous velocity at t=2.5

    (c) the instantaneous velocity when the particle is midway between its positions at t=2 and t=3.

I dont really get what it wants me to do...

First one I just plugged them in and subtracted and divided by 1 second and got 33.63

Then for b and c I took derivative to get v=5.31t^2 and plugged in 2.5 and got 33.2 for (b) then for (c) I just plugged in 2 and 3 and added them and divided by 2 to get midpoint and got 34.5

So where did I go wrong?

  • I dont get turned on by guys, can i still be gay?

I havent really been in any relationships.... in kindergarten I had a girlfriend thats it though. Im a 23yo guy. I like girls, I like thinking about spending my life with them, I like everything about them, I jack off to them.

I have friends that are guys and I can tell they dont like how emotionally close I try to get to them, and they end up thinking im gay or something when I just like to talk to guys like how I talk to girls too. I can easily see myself wanting going out with picnics with my guy friends, just doing anything I would do with a girl. I care about my guys friends the same way I would about a girl, but im not sexually attractive to the guy. If I had a girlfriend I would like her and want to spend all my time with her, but I want to do that with my guy friends too, but they dont like it. However with a girl I would be sexually appealing to her and would want to sexually please her.

So my question is, is sexuality mainly your sexual preference, or is there more to it? Am I just a more free spirit than other guys or am I tad gay?

(I guess this question also comes down to what is love? Is it physical or emotional)

  • work done using calculus?

A variable force of 5x^-2 pounds moves an object along a straight line when it is x feet from the origin. Calculate the work done in moving the object from x=1 to x=10 ft.

I set my integral as intregal from 1 to 10 of (5x^-2)(x)dx .... But I think thats wrong and I think its wrong because you dont multiple by the distance, but I dont understand why not, considering W=FD why wouldnt you multiple by the distance "x"?

  • Why did they wait so late to get married in 1890s?

I was looking at a graph for school and online and they show that the average male waited until he was 26 to get married in the 1890s (http://marriage.about.com/od/statistics/a/medianag... and it dips to like 22 for the 1950s.

I was thinking that since they lived shorter lives in the 1890s that they would have wanted to get married earlier and also since times were harder and most males didnt go to college that they would get married sooner and start their life. It makes since for 2013 that median is 26 because thats after college and stuff, but they didnt do that in the 1890s, so what kept them waiting so long in the 1890s?

  • I have Pilonidal Cyst, when do i need to go to doctor?

I think I have a Pilonidal Cyst, im 140 pound 24 yo male that sits a lot, its a lump that is deep red (darker than irritated red) and the size of pencil eraser and near the top of my bum crack. I dont have much pain, I was just itching and it hurt a little, I swipe toilet paper over it and it has some yellowish pus coming out and one microscopic spec of blood, just curious if you can live with it, and try to sit right and keep it clean and hope it goes away or if you have to visit doctor or it gets worse and you lose your entire butt.

  • easy beggining calculus question?

    Limit as X approaches 0 of [the square root of (x^2 +4) - 2)] / x^2

    or

    Limit as X approaches 0 of (x^2 +4)^-1/2 - 2)] / x^2

Ch 1 of calc, so I either need to divide by square root of x^4 or multiply by its opposite or something like that.

  • hernia while masturbating?

I was masturbating and right as I was cumming I felt a sudden pop on lower stomach on right side of body and intense pain and it lasted about 5 sec and I pushed it back in. I wasnt yanking or anything it was just a very nice, clean orgasm where my hole body felt like it was being released. But my question is if I go see a doctor can he do anything? There is no bump or anything, just slight pain, I just dont want to waste the money if he just says "take it light and if you have pain for more than a week or a bump starts to form come back." I havent heard of this happening to people so thats why im asking. I know if I ever felt a bump or anything abnormal that you should seek medical attention, but havent heard if it popping out then back in.

  • I had painful diarrhea?

About 12 days ago I was sick and had some type of sickness, but then I felt fine and ate some steak and I had diarrhea about an hour later that would come in chunks every minute or 2 and I felt like puking at the same time it was coming out (dont know if it was from the pain or my stomach), had to breath very hard and was very sweaty and pale, what hurt so much was it going through my intestines and the moment right before it was about to go out. I ignored that episode but today I had some spareribs and had the same thing. Any idea what this is, or is this just normal for bad meat and I am just getting unlucky? First time in my life I have had diarrhea like this. I am 23 year old male.

  • Leave with the weekend?

Currently in the navy in nuke school. For Christmas can I leave on a Saturday and come back 7 days later on Saturday or Sunday and only be counted as 5 days of leave or do we have to count the weekends too? Just curious cause my dad said he was able to do that when he was in.

  • Switching jobs while in Navy DEP.?

I want to switch from NUC to IS in, but if I attempt to switch to IS will I lose my nuc contract right away? Or can I try switching to IS and still keep my nuc contract until I sign the IS contract? I trust my recruiter, but cant be too careful when planning for the rest of my life. I ship out August 23rd, so if anyone has any information on how to speed up the process or anything that would be nice.

How will it add and enrich to the "storyline"? I really enjoyed her and all the episodes about her in the beginning but she hasnt been in any in a long time. And when/if she has this baby I dont see how that can give her more screen time. Just seems like she will be gone taking care of the baby.

  • Can I get top secret clearance in the Navy?

I am going in as a nuc so I will get S but I was going to try and apply for sta-21 and one of the requirements for the field I want is "Applicants who are selected, must have a current TS/SCI clearance or provide proof that a TS/SCI clearance has been requested." So can I just request TS randomly to help my sta-21 go through?
