  • OMG WTF is in my tank?

I have a 8G oceanic biocube. I have it set up for fresh water, and have for about a year to a year and a half. The people I got it from had it set up as a small nano reef tank. Not sure if this contributes to what I just found or not...

I have a moon snail, recently had a few ghost shrimp I threw in there to help clean things up with the knowledge they wouldnt last long and they did not. I have a small rainbow shark, a green tiger barb and a regular tiger barb, and a small upside down cat. I usually open just the front lip on the top to feed but tonight for some reason I opened the entire lid and checked things out. Not sure if I'm glad I did or not. These pics are what I found. Not a clue what it is and the ONLY thing I can come up with is eggs of some sort but of WHAT?? Or some sort of strange bacteria or plant life?? It might be hard to see being the pics were taken by a phone but its about the size of two quarters laying side by side and it looks very much like the inside of a slice of grapefruit...

  • First time geode hunting!?

I live in Oregon, the Portland Metro area. I really want to go geode hunting, I've never been but I love the outdoors and I'm up for the adventure trying something new and interesting.

I've done a little looking online and multiple mines and locations come up, but honestly I don't really know what I'm looking at, or for.. Does anyone know of a good place to go geode hunting, and do you have any tips for a beginner? I hope I asked this in the right section...

    Thanks in advance!

  • Researching lineage? Help!?

So I told my familly I had an interest in researching and building a family tree. They gave me some info but then made the comment "if your really serious, why don't you go to the Mormons? They have it down to a science!" This really confused me, well for many reasons, but mostly because there isn't a single part of our familly involved wirh the Mormon church! She then said something about how the church has got records on file that are said to be quite accurate. I believe she thinks they have records in general when in fact all I can find is Mormon specific lineage. Can anyone expand on this please? Thank you!

  • selling a car I still owe on?

So I bought an 03 subaru outback a little under a year ago. I LOVE the car but it's recently started having issues, and looking back I shouldn't have bought the car to begin with, it was a rushed decision I didn't think too much about and I've learned more than a few lessons since. I still owe just under 8K on the loan and I just want out! I want to buy a cheap commuter, no payments allowing me to get ahead financially and lose the stress of wondering if I'll make my bills every month. My question is, how do I unload the car? I don't really care if I make a profit, being I'll be using my taxes to buy a no payments car, I just want to get the car out of my name. So any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • Fmla violation oregon?

Working in oregon at a California based company. Full time, worked there about 4 years and meet all the requirements to qualify for fmla. Fmla was approved and the doctors paperwork which was submitted with the fmla request, states not to return to work before the 2nd of December. The leave was only. To be 2 1/2 weeks total for a hernia surgery. Work called yesterday and my manager told me "you have to clock in today or your considered terminated." This is obviously not ok so I've called Oregon department of labor and they're working on it. But the problem is, in my drugged state I didn't get a copy of the paperwork I turned in. I called the HR department to request a copy and all they told me is "we don't give out copies." So my question is, where do I go from here?

  • The perfect Showmanship pivot and set up?

I have a good solid understanding of Showmanship, but I want to know how exactly to polish my horses performance in his haunch turns and set up to the level you see in the World class AQHA and APHA show circuits. Aside from a lot of time and practice, what are the "secrets" and/or pointers top trainers use to make this happen? The video below is just a quick example of what I'm looking for, the second horse in the lineup is exactly what I'm looking for.

  • Auto repair insurance?

Is there such a thing? I guess it would act sort of like an extended warranty, something I can use to assist in covering the costs of repairs. And if so, does anyone know the details? What companies are reputable, what sort of coverage can I expect on my 02 Subi with 95000 miles on it?

  • My fiance found a lump?

So my fiance is visiting family in Arizona, we live in Oregon, he called me today to tell me that he found a lump on his pelvic bone above his genitals. He says it's not really painful but the lump itself does feel somewhat sensitive, but not sore, and it feels a bit like a pocket of liquid and not like hard tissue. He says its about twice the size of one ab muscle? Obviously, he's keeping an eye on it and as soon as he get's back he's going to the doctor. And obviously it can't be diagnosed over yahoo answers, but does anyone have any input to put my mind at ease or to give me an idea of what we could possibly be dealing with?

  • Cost of living in San Juan WA vs Portland OR?

I currently live in the Portland Metro area of Oregon and was curious how the cost of living might vary from living in San Juan. Specifically I mean car insurance, sales and property taxes...does it even out or is there a big difference? Does someone happen to know or at least know where I might find this info? I haven't had much luck in my research so far.

    Thanks:)

  • Questions about breaks?

I just traded in my car which I've had since it was brand new. I now have a used car with disk breaks all around. It was previously owned and I am not the most auto savvy person. I've had it about 3 days and I have noticed a smell sort of like burning oil or something. At first I thought it was another car in traffic since it seems to pass relatively quick but I think I've actually come to the conclusion that it's my breaks. I was pulling through a drive thru and as I was waiting for my order, I kept my foot on the brake like usual but I noticed the smell again. Then on the way home today when I was stopping and going through traffic I noticed it again. I also noticed that my back breaks were squeaking, not loud and obnoxiously but just enough to notice without the radio on. It was wet out so I suppose that might have had something to do with it. Is it normal for disk breaks to squeek? My last car had the same kind of breaks and it didn't, and when I contacted the dealership to ask about the cars last break service and explained the situation they assured me that the breaks had been checked through their service center and that they would never allow a car to leave the lot without safe breaks.

Any input would be appreciated. It's completely possible I'm just being paranoid but I kinda figured breaks aren't really something to ignore.

  • What is Tonalin and how safe is it?

My friend told me about this "amazing supplement" that's been helping her lose weight in hard to get areas and I'm skeptical. Does anyone have any input on this? How well does it work? Is it safe? I've Googled it and read a little but I would like to hear from people who have first hand experience or knowledge of the product please.

Anything would be helpful, thank you in advance.

  • Anyone with a Tassimo or Keurig single serve coffee maker?

I can't decide between the two, who can give me some insight into these that might help me make a decision? Aside from drink brand preference, price and color, what's the difference? I've included links to the two I'm stuck between.

    Thanks for the help!
