My brother and I are trying to figure out the name of a horror movie we watched when we were kids.

We can only partially remember a few scenes from the movie.

There was a creature, most likely an alien. I remember it being brown and really skinny, like an unraveling rope, if you can imagine a monster made out of a bunch of rough tendons.

It was very strong and must have had the ability to grow rapidly or stretch because in one scene it was in a mason jar in the kitchen by the sink and in another scene it was lifting the end of a car 8 feet off the ground on the dirt driveway.

I am pretty sure the setting was at a farm or something at night because it was dark and there were lots of trees. The last scene I remember was the monster being in the basement of a barn across the driveway from the house, the people were trying to get away and were looking though rotted holes in the floor of the barn at it as it was reaching up at them and the floor was collapsing I think.

I think they found it somewhere and put it in the mason jar and took it into the house and I want to say the jar broke in the sink which is how it got into the basement of the barn because I remember the floor of the barn being covered in water.

That's all we can remember, besides that movies scaring the crap out of us. It was probably on HBO in the late 80's late at night. I am also not completely sure if it is a movie. It could be an episode of Tales from the Crypt or Twilight Zone or something, I am just not sure.

When I go to view a folder of photos with microsoft photo viewer with vista I have a problem with them showing in random order.

When I click on the forward button to view the next photo in the folder it goes to a random photo, not the one I expect next. It is quite annoying since I want to scroll through a set of sequenced photos.

I have found no solution to this.

It does it in the slide show and under normal preview mode. If I choose the shuffle button when slide show is on it randomizes further.

Seems to work fine on my older xp machine.

Is this some sort of vista glitch, any ideas, Thanks

How much time is allowed between cleaning and refrigerating fresh catfish?

I was cleaning fish and kept getting interrupted, it ended up taking about 3 hours. The fish were killed as I cleaned them.

My wife was involved in a car accident.

The accident happened at a four way stop sign intersection.

My wife was traveling Eastbound.

The other driver was traveling Southbound.

Long story short, they both got to the intersection at the same time and my wife had right of way being on the right. The other person either didn’t yield to right of way or ran the stop sign. It happened real fast.

My wife was hurt and went to the hospital directly from the accident scene and wasn’t able to talk to the police officer before leaving the scene. The other person lied and told the officer that my wife didn’t stop so when the officer came to the hospital he was expecting to give my wife a ticket for not stopping until she straitened him out on what happened. Now he says he won’t issue any tickets because he is unable to make a determination about what happened. That is him basically saying he f’ed up.

The people who hit her already called my insurance agent and yelled at him, blaming my wife 100 percent for the accident.

There were no witnesses other than the two cars involved.

So here we are with a totaled car, injured wife, insurance battle, and no ticked issued.

How do you think things will pan out and where do we go from here?

I spoke to a lawyer who suggested we pay 5-10,000 for an accident reconstruction and that he won’t get paid unless we get any money. But if we lose we are out the$5-10,000.

Now what money does he think we will get? Pain and suffering? Missing work? Daycare?

Our car had full coverage which is only worth $6000 or so and my wife had a $40,000? dollar surgery to fix her arm which the PIP on the vehicle will pay $4500 out immediately and her health insurance(which is really good) will take care of the rest.

I have heard of people who fought in court and won, and basically any extra money they won went to the lawyer. I don’t want to enter contract with him if he is just leading me on for his own benefit.

I am not in a financial position to pay out of pocket for the accident reconstruction and I am afraid if I go the legal route I won’t end up any better off and perhaps worse than we are now.

Would I have any avenue in which to challenge the officers’ decision not to issue a ticket? Can I go over his head? Can they go back and issue a ticket days later?

Has anybody else been here and what happened? I am at a complete loss on which direction to proceed at this point.

My wife and I have shared our yahoo e-mail address for several years. I use yahoo answers and she does not. We just got new blackberrys and I am letting her keep the old address and I am setting a new one up for myself to link to my phone.

How can I give her the e-mail address and keep the answers portion for myself at a different address?

2 mins and 32 seconds into this weird video the song starts. I have determined based off the lyrics that the song is Antichrist Superstar written by Marilyn Manson but it is not one of his versions and it is definitely not him singing. I hired a house cleaner to do a deep clean as a christmas present for my wife who is 9 months prego and cant clean it herself. This woman was recomended by one of my wifes coworkers.

After a no call no show (blamed sick kids), she finally showed up to clean. I had the day off and did dishes and laundry while she cleaned.

After 3 hrs she said she was done. I was like, woah, I paid for a deep clean and carpets. I went around and scrutinized the work she had done. She missed a host of major cleaning items such as a toilet, dusting return air vets and loads of cobb webs just. I ended up getting her to stay there for another hour and she agreed to return the next day to finish due to the fact that she didnt bring cleaner for the range/stove or showers and she would take care of the rest of the list then. I already had the check made out but told her I wouldnt pay her until she was done the following day. As she was finishing to leave my wife showed up with my 18 month old. I went out and unloaded him and helped her inside. As the house cleaner left she agreed to come at 11 the following day. That evening I noticed that she had rearranged the presents under the christmas tree, I assumed while cleaning. However I noticed that the smallest gift, a gift from my wife to me, was not there. I knew she had gotten me an ipod for christmas. I took every item from under the tree to be sure. It was gone. I was pissed but was giving her the benefit of the doubt. I would wait till she came back to confront her about.

The next day she didnt show up and wouldnt answer her phone. I started to get a little worried.

I started to look thru the rest of my house to see what was missing.

Turns out she took $80 dollars from my wallet which was on the counter where I was doing dishes, probably when I went outside to get the kid. I never carry cash and had gotten it from my brothers and sister the night before because I was picking up a group present for our dad. I also realized that she took the check I had made out to pay her with. Of all things she replaced the check with a reciept for house cleaning services rendered and left it sticking out from under my wallet just enough to look as though the check was still there and I just didnt notice.

I called the bank instantly to cancel the check but she had already been to the branch and cashed it.

I called the police and made a report. They say it will be months before they will even investigate it!!! I printed off a copy of the check from the bank with her driverslicense number on it for them. I also furnished a picture I took of our christmas tree the night before she came over which showed the ipod still there. No one has been in my house but her. My wife didnt do it and my 18 month old couldnt have taken the money and he has no interest in the presents and wasnt home when it went missing. Not to mention the fact that she stole the check, for sure since she left me a reciept where the check was. I was thinking check fraud would nail her to the tree but the police say since I had already signed it I am SOL and it will be hard to prove.

I am livid. I want blood. I want to get my property back as legally as I can. We thought this was a person we could trust being that she worked regularly for a friend of ours. It turns out that my wifes friend had only used her once and found her via a craigslist add. I was mad, you have to be f-ing kidding me. I called her number again tonite to deliver an ultamatem about getting my stuff back and a babysitter for her kids answered and said she and her husband were at the movies, spending my money no doubt. I have her and her husbands phone numbers, all 3 e-mail addresses she uses, and I can very easily find out where she lives and I know she uses craigslist to advertise. Where her main selling point is how she is "HONEST-RELIABLE-DRUG FREE-FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED-AFFORDABLE". She also says she caters to the handycapped and elderly. If she is pulling this BS on me then I cant imagine how many helpless victims she has taken advantage of. I want my stuff back and I want to take her down a notch. Any schemes, trickery, wicked tomfoolery, threats, I dont care, I want all ideas you can come up with short of physical harm.
