I'm 15, live in Pennsylvania, love politics, and have no life, so that leaves plenty of time to get pissed off at idiots on this forum. Really, both sides of the issue apparently can't make a decent argument without ranting, insulting, or flaming on this site, but I try to be better, but sometimes I just get caught up in it, *Sigh* Anyway, if your wondering my political affiliation, I can't technically vote, so I am not Registered for a party, but if I was, I would be independent anyway, although on most issues, I lean towards the Liberal Side, but sometimes I go both ways (no innuendo intended)

  • Why are random Ads appearing? Do I have a virus?

Sometimes (especially from google, I find) when I am opening up a new page in a new tab, it will instead redirect me to some ad site (I don't actually see the adsites since I have scriptblocker with FurryFox, but they are still a nuisance). I don't know why this keeps happening. Could some sort of Adware or Virus be doing this? How can I get rid of it? (I deleted my cookies and cache, but it continues to occur)

  • Can you use Pre-paid gift cards the same way as a credit card?

If I want to order a subscription to something online, and one of the paying options is "Credit/ Debit Card", can I use a Pre-paid gift card (like an American express card that can be used anywhere) instead of a Credit/ Debit Card?

  • Is Philosophy a required class for a lot of colleges?

I am taking a college class in the spring (I am a Junior in HS). and the Picks for the classes were pretty slim, and I couldn't decide, so I just put down Philosophy, and before it is too late to change classes, I was just wondering whether or not a Philosophy class is required in a lot of Majors as a general class. If that question makes any sense.

    thanks.

    Starring Obama, as, himself!

  • How come people feel the need to investigate Obama but not McCain?

I understand that some want to investigate the character and past of the people who are going to lead us. But why does the right go after Obama so much more viciously then McCain? Why are these same questions not being asked of McCain? Why isn't he being asked how he stayed in school despite being at the bottom of his class, or about what happened as a POW, or about his first wife, or whatnot.

I am not saying just attack one man, I am saying that if we question one person on these things, shouldn't we examine the other person the same way? I think the Right is being much more vicious on Obama in this respect then the anyone is on McCain. And I want to know if anyone has an idea as to why.

And I don't want to hear about how radical Obama is or his friends, or anything, I don't want to know WHY they are questioning Obama, but why they are NOT questioning McCain.

  • how do you fix or replace Wii Sensor bar?

My mom was vacuuming, and accidentally hit a hanging cord from my Wii sensor bar. It it pulled out the wire from the bar, and broke off the plug. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this, or if there is a way to get a new Wii sensor bar as a replacement.

    thanks

  • Did Kerry use his military Service like McCain?

I was just wondering, I wasn't following politics as much back then, and I can't remember if Kerry used his service to the extent that McCain does.

  • What if there was a Tie?

I know that to win the Presidential election, you need half of the Electoral college + 1. But, even though I know it is highly unlikely, what would happen if there was a tie?

The question arose when I was screwing around with NPR's electoral map. And, of the toss-ups, I gave Obama; Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Hampshire, Iowa, and New Mexico. (likely outcome)

I gave McCain; Virginia, Florida, Ohio, and Colorado (also Likely), and I found that if I put Nevada (a very close election) on McCain, he won, but if I put it on Obama, then there would be a tie. So I was just wondering what would happen in this situation (or a similar one).

  • When McCain said Rwanda, did he mean Darfur?

about 1 hr 42 min (by CNN time) into the saddleback discussion. McCain is asked whether we should commit troops to stop genocide. McCain then goes to say a few things about Rwanda. Did he mean to talk about Darfur? Because I am pretty sure there hasn't been a genocide in Rwanda for a good decade or more.

  • is this a healthy breakfast before exercise? If not, what is?

Ive started HS (high-school) soccer camp this week. The practices start at 7 AM, and I get up between 6-6:30 (I only live a few minutes walk from the school). Rather then eat no breakfast, I have, for the last two days been making a fruit smoothie in the morning out of fruits frozen the night before. I was just wondering whether or not this is a good idea, since it is pretty heavy, and it has a lot of sugars (since it is mostly fruit). So I'm not sure if it is optimal.

    In the smoothie, I have;

    A frozen Banana

    a frozen Peach

A handful of Frozen Strawberries/ blueberries

Half a cup of fruit cocktail

    Some water and Ice.

Note: of course I don't eat the whole thing, its way too much, I eat about half of it

I guess it is probably the best thing that I can eat so shortly before a practice, but I just want to make sure. And if anyone has any better options (preferably not store-bought and can be made quickly in the morning)

  • How about this for drilling policy?

We allow limited offshore and ANWR drilling, but tax the companies just $1 (or maybe even less) for every barrel of oil that they produce, then you use the tax money to preserve the habitat of endangered species, ecosystems, and fight the erosion of the Coastline? At this point it wouldn't raise Gas prices much, so maybe it could work.

And yes, I know about the whole situation, that we wouldn't see a drop of oil for years, and it wouldn't even lower gas prices more then a few cents, but still, unless there is a huge problem that it causes (A more detrimental effect on the environment then predicted, or something like that), I don't see why not

  • How can people justify denying Gay's equal rights?

I am a liberal-Moderate, and I do sympathize, sometimes agree with, and try to meet halfway with many Conservative stances. But the one issue that I can't even understand is how they can justify denying Gays the same rights as married couples. I have not heard any strong case against it (that does not include God). Please, can someone justify the denial of Rights to Homosexuals to me?
