Jobs in nonprofit sector/social movements?
I recently had an epiphany about what I would like to do with my life. I want to promote social movements, help organize awareness events and volunteers. I have looked into things like the Red Cross, United Way, Salvation Army etc, but none of them are hiring in my area. Where can I go to get into this has a profession. I know it is hard to do, I have done this before, and realized how much I love it! It's going to be a lot of work for little pay, and I am okay with that. I know that I will be making a difference and that will make up for the monetary means I will be missing.
I am about to graduate with my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with minors in Advertising, Communications and Sociology. I don't want to be on the corporate end of this, I want to be in the middle of it, working with my hands, legs, and heart. I want to be the one to help spread the word, and I don't want one specific cause either. I want to work for an organization that works with many charities.
Any help in this would be greatly appreciated!
2 AnswersGovernment & Non-Profit1 decade agoGoing to school in london?
I want to transfer to a school in London. I am looking for a school that has a Bachelor's program in Business, I would prefer to be able to stay off campus but within walking/public transportation distance (I have a cat I have to bring so I cannot stay in any dorms) I need to know how to start the process and who I can contact to get my visa (preferably one where I can choose to stay in the UK after graduation)
Where do I start? Can anyone tell me what schools are good and how to begin the process? I already have my AA degree so I will be transferring as a Junior. Also my GPA is not very high, but I have good reasons for that (personal family issues that interferred) and am willing to work hard over there, will this be an issue? I had VERY VERY good grades in high school (graduated with honors at 3rd in my class of 600) Is there a way that my older brother could come with me (he wants to make sure I am okay) he wants to go on a work visa, do you think this is possible?
