  • Is it wrong to think that life isn't worth it?

I'm not going to kill myself, so don't give me those sort of answers. I couldn't do that to all my friends/family.

But is it wrong to just happen to think that live isn't worth the effort it requires? Perhaps I'm just a pessimist, but no matter what happens, you wind up dead. Seems a bit unfair that people have to suffer through pain and depression just do die and have nothing to show for it.

  • Getting my WoW account back... dug myself into a hole here?

Alright, I'm a pretty serious WoW player. However, being the tard that I am, I used mostly fake information way back when i signed up. I attached an authenticator some time ago. (Android one)

Well, my phone broke. Will not turn on.

I need to remove that authenticator in order to sign on, which requires that I show Blizz my ID.

Should I just call them and explain all of this? No idea what to do. D:

  • 100% XP SP3 on a 2011 MacBook?

My school is forcing its students to use MacBooks next year for their work, which means no more Alienware usage for me. I'm a gamer. OS X = no. I don't feel like wasting part of the 160gb hdd on a Mac partition, so can I just wipe the thing and install XP on it in full?

Can I just create an MSDOS partition table and make a full NTFS partition on it?

    Thanks!

  • Can a dehydrated human (re)gain 20 pounds of water weight in one day?

My wrestling coach was yelling at a teammate of mine for dehydrating himself to make weight. (he had to be below 125 lbs)

He told us a story about how wrestlers would destroy their bodies by not eating or drinking, and using laxatives and such in his high school days. He also said that he would have to make weight at 119 lbs in the morning of a tournament, and be up to 140 later in the day.

So: Does it seem possible to you that a human can starve and dehydrate itself, then eat some food and drink several gallons of water to put on 20 lbs in one day? A friend of mine didn't believe it to be possible, and im not sure.

  • How to make/restore a complete iso of my hard drive?

Ive got a 160gb hard drive in my laptop, and i bought a 640gb to swap it out with. I want to make a complete image of the 160 to put on my 1tb external drive, then swap the 160 with the 640 and restore that image to the 640. • Do you consider golf a sport?

A friend and I are having an argument right now over this.

I don't think golf is a sport. I think sports require strength, conditioning, dexterity, and getting winded at some point. Golf has almost no conditioning requirements whatsoever. I don't care how far you have to walk over a four hour period, getting winded is out of the question. Strength helps, but being extremely strong will not help. It does require a ton of dexterity.

I'm not good at golf, and I acknowledge that its pretty tough to be good at. It's a difficult and respectable competitive hobby to me, nothing more. I do respect golfers for their skill and dedication. However, it is not an athletic activity to me.

But then, all this is coming from a football player/wrestler/soccer player.

    So, anybody? Opinions?

  • Will there be a season two of Kampfer?

Well, I just finished season one and loved it. (Heh, I feel like I should hate it, but oh well. Guilty pleasure.)

Anyhow, some of the other questions about season two were like a year old. I haven't found much else on the net regarding Kampfer. So, does anyone know at this point if there will be a season two or not?

I did find something about two episodes being released in March 2011, has anything been said about those?

  • Gaming mouse questions?

I'm converting from console to PC gaming right now, and I've got an Alienware M11x and some new desktop parts in the mail right now. I have a few questions regarding gaming mice.

So, I want a wired mouse, and that's about all I know. What kind of specs (DPI and whatever) are required for good performance in games like COD?

Also, do I need a mouse pad? If so, does it have to be a fancy gaming mouse pad?

    Thanks!

  • Which of Shakespeare's plays are considered masterpieces?

I'm writing a paper on the works of William Shakespeare, and part of it is to tell which of his plays are considered masterpieces. I wrote: Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Henry V, Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, and Julius Caesar. Would you add or remove any from my list? (And it would be nice to know why, but I understand if you don't want to explain)

    Thanks!

  • Need advice on buying a small gaming laptop?

I want a laptop with an 11-13" screen, mostly for gaming. I would like to be able to play Fallout 3/New Vegas and Call of Duty 4 up to Black Ops at low-medium settings with a decent framerate, but maintain good portability since I'm a student and partake in many various student-type shenanigans.

    I was looking at this:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...

It says that it has 384mb of dedicated video memory, which should be enough for me, but will the CPU work for my intended purposes?

If not, would you recommend any specific laptops?

As cheap as possible, please. :D

    Thanks!

  • What do you think is the toughest high school sport?

I play tennis and I wrestle, for the record.

Anyhow, I'm trying to prove a point. Everyone at my school thinks wrestling is easy, and if you have ever wrestled, you know that it ISN'T EAST AT ALL. Its the hardest thing I've had to do - as far as sports go.

My dorky football and basketball friends think their sports are fifty times more difficult than wrestling. But the thing is, they have never wrestled. I've played football, and I've played baskeball, they're both easy as pie.

So, to people that have played both football and wrestling or basketball and wrestling, which was easier for you? Physically and mentally.

And if you only play one sport and have never wrestled, don't bother answering, because you really don't have a clue.

    Thanks!

PS: Lets keep answers relevant to the three sports I've said. I know that cross country, soccer, and whatever else are all difficult too. But I'm just proving a point.

  • I seem to be bipolar lately?

Maybe not actually bipolar, but something to that effect.

I seem to overreact to any good or bad thing in my life. Any time some little thing happens, it can radically change my mood and it's starting to scare me. For instance, I found ten dollars in a pants pocket the other day, and I think I actually experienced euphoria. On the other end of the spectrum, I was texting someone, and they said something like "I'm going to go to sleep. Goodnight."

I hate to say it, but having nobody to talk to made me almost suicidal.

Thinking about suicide over a friend going to sleep isn't normal, so what the hell is wrong with me?

I'm a 14 year old boy, if it makes a difference. If you want more information, just ask.

  • What subgenre of electronic music is this?

I found a couple of songs while surfing the net one day, and I really like them.

    They're called:

    East Clubbers - Drop

    DJ Playboy - Cube

DJ Satomi - Castle in the Sky

    DJ Splash - Flying High

The only problem is that I can't find any more of this style of music because I don't know what it is.

  • Which of these tennis racquets would be best for me?

I am a 14 year old boy, 5'7", 136lbs. I am just starting out on the varsity team, and I think I need a new racquet. I am using a HEAD Ti.S5 Comfort Zone right now, but I think it's too light. It's really nice when I play the net, but I don't do that enough to get a racquet based around it.

I decided I needed some more weight, maybe a bit smaller head, and that I'd go up in my price range to about 140 STRUNG. I want a mid or mid+ racquet, and I want it to be at least 9oz. Oh, and I really dislike head light racquets.

So, which of these racquets would be the best for me, do you think? Post up any other recommendations, please.

  • What are some ways in which changes in culture impact the English language?

I'm writing a report on this. I just need some main points to get my thoughts flowing.

Suggested ideas from my guidelines paper:

In what ways has the Technology Age changed the English vocabulary?

Have word processor programs changed the need for good penmanship?

To what degree and at what speed does slang become a part of Standard English?

    Thanks!

  • Snowboard waxing? Okay Yahoo!, now it's 20 characters. Happy?

Okay, so I have been boarding for 2 or 3 years now, and I'm buying my first board. I understand that I should wax it, but I can't find a clear answer anywhere to the question: How often? Should I apply new wax after every ride, or it is a few times every season, or what?

And also, should I scrape off the old wax before applying more?

    Thanks. :)

  • Pondering selling one of my computers and buying something, your opinion?

Okay. I have two laptops. I like to have more of a stationary powerhouse type laptop, and a more portable net browsing type laptop. I have both. One is an HP Compaq NX9600 and the other is a Dell Inspiron 1420, and they fall into their respective roles.

I put the HP on Craigslist just to see how much I could get for it, and immediately got several offers. If I sell it for 1000 dollars, would I have made a good deal?

And if I did sell it for that price, should I buy another laptop, or a new phone?

Were I to buy another laptop, I'd get the 15" multi touch Battalion from ibuypower.com, and if I got a new phone, it'd be Nexus One.

And I know that those are two very different things, and that it just depends on what I want, but what would YOU do?

Oh, and I'm kinda thinking about building a desktop, but I doubt that'll happen.

Anything that I may wanna know, just throw it out there. Thanks!

  • Can a firearm be discharged in space?

I know that the gunpowder needs oxygen to ignite. And I'm not sure that there'd be enough inside the rest of of the casing of the cartridge to detonate all of the powder. Then the gun/shooter would be propelled backwards....

Anyone know anything about this? I'm just curious.

  • What is the purpose of a supercomputer?

I'm talking about real supercomputers. You don't own one, if you think you do, your nuts. Google up the IBM Roadrunner or the Cray Jaguar.

But anyways, what is the purpose of them? I know it's for going really fast and being able to handle incredibly large graphically intense programs and stuff, but I don't know what could be so vast that it would make a computer of such size and power necessary.

    Thanks!
