I love dogs and horses I own 3 Border Collies (RIP cap :( ), 2 horses(a dartmoor and a cob),and 2 leopard geckos.

  • Personalised/decorated socks?

I am wanting to get some personalised socks with a pattern all over, is there are site where you can do this (the only ones ive found the logo can only go at the top) or would it be easier to buy some plain socks and decorate them myself (how would i do this)?

    thanks :)

  • Just got puppys registration papers back...?

we had to wait 6 weeks to get them back, with the kennel club sending them to the breeder instead of us! :@

and after the registered name it says (AK2) and after the sires name (AH3)

i looked at my other registered dogs papers and they had (AJ2)

does anyone know what these are for and what they mean?

  • Horse had trouble loading in past...?

My lil dartmoor pony used to hate going in the horse box but with alot of work she will now go in (providing i have a bucket of food! lol) but this is without the partition in the box, i doubt i will get her in with that.So i will just travel without that in.

But do i need a bar at the back or something? there was one on the partition (so with out the partition there isn't one) do i need to put one on?

The breast bar doesn't attach onto the partition so that is in.

Does she need to be tied?

  • is this a good registered name for a agility dog?

the dog is a border collie pet name tye

he will be doing agility when he is old enough

this is what he looks like : http://s361.photobucket.com/albums/oo53/Agility4ly... http://s361.photobucket.com/albums/oo53/Agility4ly...

i was thinking of calling him tye's the guy, or tyes my guy or my guy tye, the breeder doesnt have a kennel name but other people with dogs from that litter are using 'kesrock' as a prefix because the parents are called kes and rocky

    are these good names?

    which is your favourite?

    any other ideas?

  • Registered name for GORGEOUS collie pup?

i am very unimaginative when it comes to names!

i have a young collie puppy who will compete in agility when old enough and so need to be KC registered

his pet name is tye, and his parents are Kes and Rocky so we were thinking Kesrock something. (and we live near keswick so kes would be good!)

  • Progressing grades in dog agility?

If you get more than 75 points do you have to progress to the next grade or can you wait till you win either 1 agility or 3 jumping?

i am in grade 1 and have 78 points but don't want to move into grade 2 yet because i have only been competing for 4/5 months, and want to wait a while because i don't want to be in grade 3 yet because of the big numbers.

  • Sugar levels in grass?

when do the sugar levels in the grass get low enough to allow a pony prone to laminitis out on into the paddock?

she shares with another horse in the winter, but has to be on reduced grazing in the summer because she has had laminitis 2/3 times before.

  • Something to teach bored terrier?

my brother bought a little fell terrier a couple of years ago and has since practically moved out and only comes home every now and then. but we still have his terrier, and he barks ALOT!!

I think this might be through bordem, because he just sits in his kennel all day, he also has 3 collies to keep him company but they are in different kennels.

so i thought i could teach him something but i don't know what!!

the collies are working dogs (but 1s retired and another isn't trained yet and i do agility with her)

    Any suggestions will be helpful

  • dOG tRICKS???

I have been trying to train my border collie to do some tricks, but she just doesn't seem to get it!!

i look on the internet for how to train her the tricks, and have been trying for a while now.

I have tryed paw, crawl, beg, bow, and wave, but she only understands crawl(and that is only just!!), (she also knows how to spin left and right, but that was just taught for agility.)

she is normally a very quick, and willing learner, but she just looks at me with, a very cute, but confused look on her face!!!

do you have any tips for helping her, and any other tricks she might understand easier?

  • Agility contact equiptment?

I am doing dog agility with my georgeus dog, and she is doing really well, and my dad has made me some jumps, weaves and a see-saw to put in the garden, which are really good.

But the see-saw is just plain wood and is quite slippery(even in dry weather.) and i noticed that the contact equipment at training classes and show are painted and have that sandy stuff on them.

Is the sand in the paint(they have used textured paint),

or have they painted it and while it is wet they blast it with sand??
