A dialogue on Race- As a non-white, what is a question you've always wanted to ask a white person?
I know there are some things I've wondered about. But sometimes it's difficult to ask a question you think may offend a person.

A REAL question, that maybe you didn't ask because you didn't want to be called racist or be belitled?

Do we build a wall between us and Mexico?
Do we offer daily 'work passes' to come over for the day?
McCain said Americans wouldn't work a degrading job like picking lettuce for $50/hour for the entire season. He said we CAN'T do it.
That's $50/hr x (approx) 8 hrs/day x 5 days/week x 4 weeks= $8,000 a month.

9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat do you think of Ferraro's NEW comments?
Yesterday
“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position," Ferraro told the newspaper. "And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."

Today
"I really think they're attacking me because I'm white," she said.

Obama's response
When asked about Ferraro's remarks, Obama said that being an "African American man named Barack Obama" was not the quickest path to becoming U.S. president.
"Anybody who knows the history of this country I think would not take too seriously the notion that this has been a huge advantage, but I don't think it's disadvantaged either," Obama said.
13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoFerraro - Clinton Supporter or Sabotuer?
Maybe I've become cynical of late, but I wonder if Ferraro was trying to sabotage Clinton.
She ran for VP, she KNOWS comments like that will hurt Clinton and fire up Obama supporters. This isn't some junior campaign person or a bunch of silly volunteers sending out bogus emails.
This is a seasoned political figure who just dealt Hillary a real blow, right before Pennsylvania.
What's your theory? For the record, I'm an Obama supporter. But I still think this just sucks. I guess because i want a fair fight.

U.N. accuses U.S., city of denying minorities right to return

The United Nations has weighed in on the public housing debate in New Orleans, coming down squarely on the side of displaced residents.
Two independent experts, working with the U.N. Humans Rights Commission report that the demolition of public housing in the city is effectively denying the right of return to minorities.
''Whether or not the demolitions were intentionally discriminatory, 'the lack of consultation with those affected and the disproportionate impact on poorer and predominantly African-American residents and former residents would result in the denial of internationally recognized human rights,''' their report said.
