Carry on backpacks for cameras and laptops?
Traveling from Australia to the UK and need to take my slr and spare lens in its case (rectangular belt pack) as well as my laptop in its hard case (13" MacBook pro) - as well as the usual carry on necessities. Needs to be a backpack and would preferably be without wheels as they add unnecessary weight. Must also meet carry on guidelines of maximum combined dimensions of 115cm. Any suggestions?
Also needs to be available in stores in Australia as I don't have time to order.
Thanks in advance!
1 AnswerPacking & Preparation9 years agoWhere/How to find older dvd releases (PAL4)?
There are a few dvds which were released around 2000-2003 on PAL region 4 which I am chasing. I occasionally come across them in a rental store - but not available for sale. Aside from Ebay and auction sites - where should I look? I don't want to buy pirate copies, but I'm ok with second hand as long as they are in good playing condition.
I've tried Ezydvd, amazon, jb... all the usual type places with no luck. The titles I'm after aren't what I'd imagine were big releases at the time - mostly childhood favourites!
Any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
1 AnswerOther - Entertainment1 decade agoNames of photographers who use projections over their subjects?
University assignment... anyway, I'm looking at projecting images onto subjects for a studio unit and need to look at some photographers who use the same technique.
I've googled everything I can possibly think of, but can only come up with amateurs or others who have put assignments online. I've tried most photography journals, but without the name of a photographer they're not much good!
If you don't know what I mean, I'll put up a link to my flickr as soon as they've uploaded.
Thanks in advance!
1 AnswerPhotography1 decade agoSlow PC, Windows XP SP 3... any ideas?
I'm staying with my parents for a few days and they were telling me of some troubles with their computer. From what I can tell through their explanations and a few experiments any more than 2 programs running at a time is enough to slow it down enough that you need to wait for your text to appear in a word document.
To start with, here is what I know. I believe its an Optima, bought in 2005 (?). Running Windows XP home edition, SP3. The System properties tells me it is a Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz, 3.19GHz, 496 MB of RAM. To be honest, I don't know what a lot of that means, so hopefully it will mean something to you.
They are using under 50% of the 110Gb hard drive. I have defragged the disk and cleared out all the temporary files and software which is no longer used.
Is the computer just getting old? Could it be fixed by purchasing more RAM? Is there something else I can do?
Thanks in advance for your help!
6 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoLocate and delete duplicate files on PC - Windows OS?
I have recently discovered that there are a lot of duplicate files on my parents computer. - Identical images, identical file names, stored in different folders.
Is there a simple way to search for any duplicate files so that any duplicates can be deleted?
I don't mind purchasing some software, but don't want to spend a lot as I hope it will be a once off clean up!
Thanks!
3 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoUsing a Laptop and Projector for Slide Show Presentation?
I am doing a presentation at uni, and have put together a slide show.
I need to connect my laptop to the projector in the classroom in order to make my presentation.
The projector is an older type, and does not automatically detect input.
My laptop has Windows XP Pro, and I know that I have to activate dual monitors in the display settings. The problem I have is that my computer seems to be set up to show a second (or expanded) desktop on the other monitor (the projector). What do I need to do in order to see the presentation on both screens?
Your help is SO much appreciated!!
5 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoWhat is the plant which is growing in my garden, and how can i get rid of it?
There is a plant which is growing in several areas of my garden. I didn't plant it as it was here when I moved in, and I have no idea what it is. It grows to about 1 meter tall, but flowers in summer and the flowers are quite tall. It has large dark green foliage (approx. 30cm) with some spikes or prickles around the edge. at the end of summer, it dries up and the foliage disappears. What is left of the flowers goes brown and looks somewhat like a dried thistle. At the end of the summer, I removed all traces i could, but come spring, the foliage has regrown. It has quite a deep root system, and the roots snap easily when i try to dig or pull them out. What could it be? and how can i get rid of it?
