  • Pokemon Gold Smeargle help?

    A week ago I found my Pokemon Gold and decided to start playing it again.

    I have a Smeargle, to whom I want to teach Baton Pass.

    I caught an Aipom, and made it go to the lvl 12 to learn Baton Pass, in order to make a Ditto transform into that Aipom so that when it used Baton Pass, i could sketch it.

    However, it didn't work. I tried sketching another move (Tail Whip) and it didn't work again.

    I assumed it wouldn't work trying to sketch a move from a Ditto.

    My question is, is there any other way to make it learn Baton Pass without using link cable or having to catch another Smeargle?
