  • Difference between Harry Potter Movie in the US and UK?

I know that in the UK, the first Harry Potter novel was called "Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone", but it was changed in the US, because Philosopher has a slightly different, less magical, meaning in the United States...

The films which were American made, in association with British production companies and actors, if anything like the books, would have subtle differences as well. Probably more similar to the American versions of the books, which were changed because of the British 'slang' (like 'Jumper' being Jacket or Sweater, or 'Dustbin' being Trash Can...

So, In the original film, in the United States it was called "The Sorcerer's Stone", like the American book, but in the UK it was called "The Philosopher's Stone".

In the film itself, in the UK version is their any reference to it being The Sorcerer's Stone, when they talk about the stone in the vault, because they clearly say it in the US version? Did they film two different versions of each scene that referenced the stone, and then make, technically two different versions of the original film?...

Thanks. :) Just Curios as I haven't seen both versions of the Original move, and wondered about whether or not the FILM was changed or just the TITLE.

    :p
