I had laser hair removal (using diode laser) on entire face on Wednesday. I had normal side effects afterwards (redness, bumps, swelling, itchiness) that have subsided by now except for the bottom of my right eye. It is still swollen and doesn't seem to be going down. Anyways, the nurse wore goggles and gave my husband who was accompanying me a pair as well. She never gave me a pair. I was closing my eyes(which I could see the rays when she got close to my eyes, upper cheek area) but she said it was okay to open them becasue the rays were harmless. It wasn't until today that I was reading that I should have been given goggles too. I know I should have done more research beforehand but I have many friends who have gone to her without complaints so I figured I would be in good hands. She also lasered underneath my eyebrows, which I have also now read is also a no-no. So, although I won't be going back to this establishment, I was wondering if eye damage is instant? Other than blindness, what else could go wrong or should I be worried about?
