  • In an ionic molecule with a negative charge, where does the extra electron come from?

I understand in an ionic compound, such as NaCl, the electron is transferred between atoms. What about something like carbonate, which has the formula CO3 with a charge of 2-. When we discuss that ion, where did those electrons come from?

  • How do I add content to a conversation?

Whenever I'm in a conversation I tend to latch my mind on specific phrases and not keep with the flow. It causes me to repeat what's been said, or bring up topics that have no more interest. I'm a strong introvert, and I feel this problem is connected to over-thinking. Anybody have tips?

  • Results of deep breathing?

After some brief internet research, I understand the benefits of deep breathing. Today I took it upon myself to practice deep breathing throughout the whole day - and I managed to for the most part. However, by the end of the day, I was feeling quite light-headed and almost dreamy. I'd like to know if this is a transition phase, an expected result, or just plain strange.

  • Improving in art through mimicry?

Do you think that trying to copy the pictures of other artists is a viable way to improve your own drawings? If it is, is it necessary to practice any other way?

  • What's the best way to reject somebody (not romantically)?

I apparently met a girl a few years ago on an out-of-state trip, but never noticed her at the time. Somehow she thought we were friends, got my contact info, and has been calling me since. At first I was okay with it, but it became an every day thing for her and I didn't have the time nor interest, so I stopped answering. Then she started sending messages, and since I was feeling guilty anyway, I had conversations with her that way. Now I'm at the point where I'm even ignoring messages, but she still sends one almost every day with a "what's up" sort of tone.

She's seriously not taking the hint that I never intended to be close to her. I know I should've told her in the beginning, but I never thought it'd come this far. I tried to never be mean, but since she's not getting it, would it be nicer still to just tell her I'm not interested in talking? And if so, what's the best way, since it'll surely hurt her.
