  • Do Women Bleed Faster than Men when donating blood?

I've read that on average men have more hemoglobin than women.

Because this is the case would women also bleed faster on average?

I mean specifically for when you are donating blood at a clinic.

Who are the best NBA players ever who didn't score many points? Players like Dennis Rodman, Manute Bol, Ben Wallace. Even maybe Rajon Rondo?

  • Is my Turtle Beach P11 headset defective?

Just got this headset, if I'm hooking it up using avi it will only work if I plug in one side and not the other (for example, if I only plug in the Audio R(or just the L), and not the left one, it works just fine, but I assume that makes the surround not work, sound comes out both earcups but I assume it's the same sound from both). If both are plugged in, I hear some sounds but not others, for example I hear a slight bit of vocals and guitar from songs, but not other instruments, or just scratching noises from other instruments. If I plug it into the computer I hear the same thing (as I do not have the option to just plug in the left or the right). If I plug it into my iphone I just do not hear anything.

Can anyone help with this? Is this headset defective? I got it used on ebay, but I got it at a fairly cheap price, and I've never actually shipped anything before so returning it would honestly be more hassle than it is worth, I'd sooner just use it for now and get a wireless headset so I don't have to deal with wires sometime later on.

  • Why are Laker fans calling Dwight Howard a coward?

He was traded to a team that he did not have on his list of trades he didn't want to be traded to, made no commitment at all to this team but still gave the season an immense effort.

He was the best center in the league statistically, still probably the best defensive center, was just hard to get dpoy votes on a horrible defensive team.

He came back MONTHS early from surgery and still averaged 17points, a league leading 12+ rebounds, almost 3 blocks if I recall and something like 1.5 assists and steals. Those are HUGE stats for somebody who came back months early from back surgery, and battled a shoulder injury all season. The end of the season he improved these already immense numbers.

YET, the entire year, tons of Laker fans complained about him, half the people I saw on here were saying "He's not even a good center anymore I hope he leaves" or "If he leaves he's a coward".

If I had to deal with these idiotic fans who don't appreciate me, I'd leave too. Kobe was doing the same things as these fans too, he chased Howard away like he chased Shaq and Phil away in 2004.

Getting traded to a team you didn't want to be on, not being embraced at all by fans and instead being complained about by these fans all year when you come back months early from surgery just to give them your all and are the best player on their squad, and they expect him to say? And have the nerve to say he's "scared of the limelight?". No. LA just has horrible fans.

  • Is Q-Tip the only person among the greatest rappers and producers of all time?

He's probably a top 20 MC and a top 10 Producer according to basically anyone, in my opinion he's a top 10 MC and a top 5 Producer of all time.

Is there anyone else in the history of Hip-Hop who has made as much as an impact as both a producer and an emcee?

Dr. Dre, Large Professor and RZA come to mind, their production is unquestioned, though they have some classics where they are rapping, production was definitely their stronger suit. RZA is a good rapper, but honestly is probably the weakest of the original Wu lineup. Dr. Dre only had a few solo songs, most of his songs needed other rappers to carry them. Large Professor in my opinion actually has great flow, compared to the longevity of Q-Tip, he pales in comparison as just a rapper. J Dilla is underrated as a rapper, but certainly isn't a top 40 rapper ever.

The only Rapper/Producers I can think of that might compare to Q-Tip are Havoc, MF DOOM and Kanye West. But I still think none of these guys are quite at Q-Tip's level.

Am I forgetting anyone, is there a Rapper/Producer better than Q-Tip?

  • Are the Celtics still persuing Josh Smith?

Before the big Nets trade was negotiated, there was talk of the Celtics getting Josh Smith, are they still looking to do this?

Josh obviously still has lots of potential, along with Rondo, Sullinger, Bradley, Green that makes a good amount of young players moving up. I'm not sure where Gerald Wallace and Kris Humphries fit into all of this though, as this would be a team full of PFs, some could play SF. I suppose this is still a pretty good lineup if Kelly Olynyk can be an impact player at Center right away.

So anyway, what are the chances the Celtics get Josh Smith, a player who Rondo considers a friend. They played together in highschool.

Also, is it possible to not pick up the salaries of Wallace/Humphries and get both Smith and Howard? I know this is very unlikely, but that could be the quickest rebuild ever.

  • James got too good to wear 23?

There was some protest about James wearing 23, which forced him to change it with respect to Jordan.

The reason there was protest is people felt he was comparing himself to Jordan or saying he's the next Jordan, but those thoughts only came because in some way there is a comparison between the two players.

Nobody is upset with Kevin Martin for wearing 23, and he's the same position as Jordan.

(I'm not saying Lebron is better than Jordan, he does have the potential to be if he keeps playing at this level for years to come though).

So my question, was Lebron essentially forced to change his number because he got too good?

  • Is MVPS+Finals MVP's a fair ballpark for ranking players?

Obviously, you can't figure out everything by awards, but people seem to cling to the fact that Kobe is better than _____ because of 5 championships, this is obviously not great reasoning, as Robert Horry, etc isn't better than almost every player ever.

Obviously this still isn't perfect, as it still relies on the pace of your team and the league, actually getting to the finals and winning, etc. But would Finals MVP + MVP be at least a fair place to start for best players ever?

(I'm not saying we should completely ignore consistency and dominance disregarding awards, I'm just saying this is a better discussion than just counting championships). Lebron was the best player in 2011, Kobe was better than Nash, MVP those years was measuring the most important player to their team, not the "best" player. That being said though, I can't think of a better way to measure success, disregarding stats, or actually watching everyone play.

Finals MVPs have only been issued since 1969, and obviously players like Dr J, who played in the ABA wouldn't have finals MVPs or NBA MVPS, so it obviously wont work for BigO Wilt and Russell, or DrJ. But lets see...

    1. Jordan: 5+6=12

    2. Kareem: 6+2=8

    3. Magic: 3+3=6

    4. Lebron: 4+2=6

    5. Duncan 2+3=5

    6. Bird: 3+2=5

    7. Moses: 3+1=4

    7. Shaq: 1+3=4

    9. Kobe: 1+2=3

    9. Hakeem:1+2=3

Bear in mind, this disregards before 1969, when Russell, Wilt, Jerry West(Somewhat), BigO dominated and the ABA where Dr J was.

Other than that, the people with the most seem to be the best players of the 70's and on, alright, maybe Moses Malone isn't better than Hakeem and Kobe, and his success is partly due to Dr J, but I think these are pretty fair numbers for the best players from the 70's on, or at least more fair than championships alone.

If Lebron passes MJ in MVP+Finals MVPs, will there be a discussion about Lebron being the greatest?

  • Is it fair to assume Wilt would be the all time career blocks leader?

Had they recorded blocks back then.

People have apparently counted nearly 20 block games and say he averaged around 5, I'm not sure whether this is true but I often hear such statements.

Is it fair to assume Wilt would be the all time blocks leader if they were recorded? Would he have more career BPG than Mark Eaton?

  • Would it be wrong for Stern to block a Garnett - Deandre Jordan trade?

There is talk of delaying or blocking all together a perspective trade of Kevin Garnett for Deandre Jordan due to David Stern considering there might be an issue of including players in a trade for a coach (Even if done in 2 separate trades). If the two teams want to do this trade, would the NBA be wrong with blocking it?

  • Where does Lebron rank in the best game 7 performances?

Where does Lebron's game tonight rank among the best game 7 performances ever? I've done a bit of research and it looks like his might be #3 behind James Worthy's huge triple double back in the 80's and Bill Russell in the game 7 where he had 44 rebounds. Though I could be missing a few big games

By the way, I wanted the Spurs to win, before you call em a bandwagonner, I'm just wondering what people think.

  • If I start talking about god tons will I shoot like Curry/Green?

I don't believe in god, that just seems silly to me, but if I convert to godaism and get cross tattoos and thank god every time anything happens, will I shoot 3's as well as Curry and Danny Green?

BQ: How come half the teams in the playoffs at any point this year had a player called Green on their roster, only Jeff, Gerald, Danny and Draymond actually played, but 4 other playoff teams had a guy somewhere on their roster called Green.

  • Who has worse career finals stats, Lebron or Kobe?

Please research before you answer, don't just assume Kobe.

I'd say they both do equally poor in the finals, if anything Lebron does better. In the finals you go up against good defense.

I say this as a Celtics fan who would love to see the Spurs win and Duncan get a 5th ring, I just think the calling Lebron a choker is a bit stupid, he plays as good as or better than Kobe in the finals, and everyone acts like Kobe is the clutchiest person alive because Shaq, Pau, Ron Artest, etc bailed him out so many times. (Apart from 2004 and 2008 when he was crushed despite Shaq/Pau's BIG stats)

    5 AnswersBasketball8 years ago
  • Why do people act like Lebron has huge finals collapses?

Alright, he has had some bad games this year and had some bad games in the 2011 finals, but so has everyone else.

Kobe Bryant shot about 38% with 3.6turnovers a game with 2.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists in the 2004 finals.

This was when Kobe was fairly young but had a lot of experience, and he had 3 other future hall of famers on his team, including Shaq, who shot 63.1% and got 26.6PPG. He jocked up tons of shots and the Lakers lost 4-1, who were they playing against? The stars of the Pistons were Tayshaun Prince and Ben Wallace, they also had Billups and Rasheed Wallace, they weren't a bad team, but the Lakers were the clear favorites to win. After this series, the Lakers fired Phil Jackson, who called Kobe Uncoachable, in response to all of the bad shots he took, despite having teamates who weren't in a slump.

Lebron is actually shooting a better %, and getting 12 rebounds a game, he also shot a better % in 2011. And it isn't like those mavs didn't beat the Lakers aswell.

Kobe had similar stats to his 2004 ones in the 2008 finals.

I'm not trying to discredit Kobe at all, he has a great legacy in basketball and is defintely a top 15 player, likely top 10, I'm just saying, people act like Lebron "Chokes in the finals" when his stats are actually much better than kobe's in the finals, kobe in his career has shot something like 40% in the finals, and obviously is less than lebron in every other statistical category other than steals (Which is somewhat offset by his tons of turnovers).

If Lebron is a choker in the finals, Kobe is a bigger one.

Way I see it, everyone can have mediocre games (If you call averaging 12.6rebounds at SF mediocre), it's just unfortunate if they are in the finals, but obviously if a team makes it to the finals they have good defense.

(By the way, I want the Spurs to win, and not just because I want anyone to beat the heat, ever since the Celtics were eliminated I wanted Tim Duncan to get a 5th ring, people ignore how he is a top 10 player and the best player of his generation or since Shaq)

  • How Easy is it to get into the Canadian Forces as a...?

I have very little education and not much work experience, I am wondering how difficult it would be to find a position in the forces as a:

    Naval Communicator

    Postal Clerk

    Supply Technician

    Steward (Naval)

I don't mean how much work is involved, I know there is a lot of work involved in getting any posting in the Canadian Forces, I'm simply wondering if I apply for these positions if I will get any. I would value working in any of those positions and feel I could do them for 3-10 years and it would be a positive experience for me, as I would like afterwards to pursue a career in communications, or if I find the job market makes that difficult, to become a postal worker. Also, being a Steward just seems like it would be pretty alright, but is that an easy posting to get as a male?

Suppose knowing how easy training and such is would also be useful if you have that information too, as I am only around 140lbs at 5'11, and though I am active in that I jog and do a bit of sports, I do not do much lifting or anything to gain much muscle mass.

    Thanks for your help
