  • Can I use a line out converter on a home receiver?

I was wondering if I could use a line out converter on a home receiver because mine doesn't have a sub out so I was wondering if that's possible. Cause I want to run a car amplifier in my house with a receiver but I don't have a sub out to get the signal from the receiver to the amplifier. I was thinking just tap the line out converter to the speaker outputs on the receiver then run an RCA to the amp would that work?

  • Car audio problem?

So I have 2 12 inch mtx terminators running off of a boss audio r1100m. It's a cheap amp and my subs sounded good for about a month and now they sound kind of distorted or "dirty" like the amp is distorting or something. The terminators are 400 RMS at 2 ohm and the boss amp is 835 RMS at 2 ohm so plenty of power. I noticed that when my subs are hitting the light on the amp is dimming quite a bit to the bass. I don't think I have a very good ground. I basically have it bare wire wrapped around this fat bolt without any sanded down paint. Have any ideas why my subs sound like crap? It also sounds like their not hitting low either like they should be. Maybe as low as 35hz or something. Do you think I should replace the amp or is it my ground or is the gain too high on my amp? Any ideas what could be causing this?

  • Headphone question?

I'm looking to get the shure srh1540 headphones. They have an impedance of 46 ohms and a sensitivity of 99 db. Are they fine to be driven with a portable device like an iPhone or something or do they need a separate power amp to be driven?

-fairly low impedance. Low enough to be driven with a portable device

  • Car Audio question?

is there a good reason why you have to connect your power wire to the battery? I've heard there are more hot spots on the vehicle you can connect it to, but i've never seen anyone connect it to anything other than the battery. so, there must be a valid reason why you have to connect your power wire to the battery. right? can you explain?
