What is the #1 reason you own a firearm?
Nationwide, in the United States, the reasons for gun ownership (in order of popularity) are:
1) Family/Home/Personal Protection
2) Hunting
3) Firing Range/Competition/Sport
4) Employment Requirement
5) Collector/Inherited/Heirloom
Usually, there are multiple reasons for each individual, so these often overlap, but generally remain in this order of priority.
Interesting to note, Just 50 years ago, the #1 reason was hunting, followed by employment (military/police).

15 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhy did the 'gas prices' question get deleted?
I didn't see anything offensive in it, and it's pretty relevant right now.
I was looking up information to answer the question, and then it was gone.
Anyway, I found out something interesting, so I appreciated the question...The highest gas prices are in the most liberal areas of the country...Now, I have a question:
Why are the highest current gas prices in the most liberal areas of the country?
9 AnswersPolitics10 years agoDo Democrats think The Little Red Hen is a greedy, selfish jerk who should be forced to share?
Here is a link to the story...Many of you younger people probably aren't familiar with it, since public school teachers don't ask children to read it anymore:
4 AnswersPolitics10 years agoDoes this mean that the young people have learned their lesson and grown up just a little bit?
"Sixty-one percent of respondents said they would place higher priority on a candidate’s position on issues and record in office, rather than charisma and likability when they cast their vote for president next year."
Looks like they finally understand that they have to take elections a little more seriously.
4 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWeiner and the minor?
Police are investigating a 17 year-old girl's communications with Weiner.
Earlier this week, when Weiner was asked if all of the people he traded nude pictures and sexually explicit emails and phone calls with her of legal age, his response was "You can never be sure on the internet"
Was that a foundation for his defense?...If so, do you believe that he will attempt to use it and will it be accepted?
3 AnswersPolitics10 years agoShould Weiner pull out?
One of his x-rated pix was sneakily captured from Breitbart's cell phone screen, and released to the public:

Right after it was discovered that Weiner HAS been using government resources to do some of his...well...you know...

Does he have any chance of hanging in there...Or is it all coming down?

Personally, I think we should have stuffed his body with pork, and forced Al Qaeda to eat him.

13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoCan you help me choose a dinner wine?
I'm looking for a red wine to serve with pasta...So far, I have tried one that was too bitter, and a black cherry wine that is too sweet.
Is there a smooth red wine with a good flavor that's just somewhat in the middle...not too bitter, not too sweet?
5 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoHave you ever accidentally frozen wine? If so, did you drink it?
Yesterday, my husband brought home a bottle of black cherry wine to serve with a pasta dinner...I put it in the freezer to chill, expecting to leave it in for about 20 minutes while the pasta cooked...Everyone decided that they would rather have pizza, so I forgot all about the wine in the freezer.
I took it out hours later...It was frozen...It's sitting on the counter now...Slowly thawing.
Is it still drinkable...or is it ruined?
3 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoDoes anyone have any information about the woman who confessed to sending the death threats in Wisconsin?
I have Googled it, but I can't find anything new...I haven't seen anything on the news either...Some people are saying that she is a teacher, but I can't find anything to prove or disprove that...I can't even find any mention of her name or age...Seems a bit odd.
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow do you feel about opening city council meetings with prayers?
If the September meetings will be opened with Muslim prayers, can we open the October city council meetings with Pagan prayers?...How about Jewish prayers for November, Christian prayers for December, Hindu prayers for January, Pastafarian prayers for February (actually, something in spring might be better for them), etcetera...I'm sure we can come up with 12 'preferred' religions to make sure we're covered for each month...

8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWho will benefit the most from this mosque?...Who will celebrate its completion the loudest?
This is my opinion...I would like to hear yours
Americans are split on this, between:
1) They have the right, but it's insensitive
2) They have the right, so let them do it
3) They have no right, this is too painful
4) This will show people that we aren't anti-Muslim, so the terrorists will stop attacking us (Yes, some people really DO believe this)
5) It's a local issue and no one else's business, let New York decide
6) I don't care about this at all
Peaceful American Muslims are split between:
1) This would hurt people, and that's not what we want to do
2) This will show people that we can all get along
3) We just want another (or a 'better') place to pray
4) This will cause people to dislike (or mistreat) Muslims
5) We have the right to put a mosque on private property, and we won't be bullied
The terrorists...ALL terrorists...Are in 100% agreement...They will celebrate
Who are we trying to please here?

Based on the current nomination possibilities, if you answer these 21 questions about your views on a few issues, this will match you up to the candidate who agrees with you the most:

I got a kick out of this because yesterday I answered a question here about who I would vote for and I said 'Gingrich', then I just did this and it said 'Gingrich 71%' :)
So, if you guys don't mind giving this a try, I would like to know if you end up with who you thought you would.
