  • Anyone else nervous about quitting their job?

I started this job in middle management about 3 months ago at a store. The pay is crappy and I cannot stand the way the GM talks to employees, including myself. He is plain mean and degrading to everyone. Everyone complains about him but nothing is done. I feel really bad about finding a new job and quitting because the manager that hired me thinks I do an awesome job and she has such high hopes that I'll be there for a long time, and she's just so damn nice! I'm definitely going to put in a 2 week notice but I don't even know what to say when I tell her. I've never had a problem with any of my managers in the past so I don't know if I should say anything, but I want to because he's an ***hole and I still want something done about him for the sake of the other employees. I also don't know if I want to say anything about him because the next couple weeks could end up being real awkward! I don't need anymore stress in my life because I'm a college student and I'm a lot more dedicated to school than work, but work is really starting to get in the way of school. I know I need to not worry about other people think, and just think about what's going to make me happy, it's just so hard to quit a job! Even though I've only been there for 3 months I really enjoy working with a lot of the people there and have actually made friends in this small place I moved to this year. I'm in my early twenties and this is my first management position, so I really had to decide whether having the management experience on my resume or being happy right now is more important, and I decided happiness and less stress is more important right now.

Anyways, I'm not really looking for advice, just wanted to vent a little and see if anyone else is in a similar situation that wants to vent as well! Thanks for listening! :)

  • Earring hole infection with swollen lymph nodes?

I'm 20. Got my ears pierced when i was 8. Never had any issues. About a week ago somehow i got an infection in my left earring hole. The next day the left side of my neck was sore and the next morning a bump appeared under my upper jaw bone a few inches below my left ear. A couple days ago i accidentally spread the infection to my right earring hole and now the right side of my neck is sore and i can feel a small lump appearing already. The lump that's been there for a week feels about 1 inch across from what i can tell. I've never in my life had swollen lymph nodes! If that's what it is. It's really freaking me out! I have a dr appointment Thursday but I'm curious if this has happened to any of you. Any insight is much appreciated :) thanks in advance.

  • Do I need to go to the ER?

Yesterday I started getting a hot spot on my leg. It's not hot to the touch though. It's like there's an invisible heating pad on one part of my leg. It's on the upper left part of my shin. There is no redness, swelling, or soreness. Just hot on the inside. I feel the warmth roughly every 15 minutes and it only lasts for a few seconds.

I'm 20 years old. I don't have any pre-existing health conditions. I'm a little overweight but not obese by any means. I'm worried because I asked my dad about it this morning (who just had a very severe blood clot removed last year) and he said when he was my age started developing vericose veins which can lead to blood clots or already be a blood clot there. Anyways, he had this same sensation when he started having these problems. I just want to know if this is serious enough to go to ER right now, not tomorrow or the next day. I don't want to not wake up tomorrow because a blood clot reached my lungs or heart.

Have any of you had this sensation before?

Anyone had a blood clot, can you tell me if you had this symptom?

    Thanks!

  • I got a vaccination last week (Gardasil). Can anyone tell me if I need to check back in with my doctor?

I had a couple side effects the first day I got the vaccination, I felt very faint for a few hours and I couldn't eat until that night (10 hours after vaccination). But all of the side effects were completely gone the next day. I didn't have any reaction at the injection site that day either.

Last night at work (1 week after vaccination) I noticed my arm hurt where I got the vaccination. When I got home I felt it and there's a noticeable bump under my skin (about 1 inch diameter) and it hurts! It's sore to the touch and if I move my arm. It isn't excruciating pain but it's enough that I'm a little worried.

    Is this normal?

    I'm 21 if that helps.

Has anyone gotten a vaccination and not had a reaction at the site until a week later?

Any insight would be much appreciated!

    Thank you!

  • Where do I hide in the event of a tornado?

I live in a condo, there are 4 units in my building. My condo is 2 stories tall with cathedral ceilings. The bottom floor is what they call a basement but it's not really a basement, it's just a first level. We have a storage unit on the bottom floor in the hallway and I'm thinking that would be the safest place to hide because the walls all seem to be cement. And because it's about in the centerpoint of the building. Or would it be safer to hide in the 1st level bathroom? My condo is on a golf course so I do worry about the open land being inviting to a twister. I live in Northern Lower Michigan and we don't get many tornadoes here, last one I saw was 15 years ago when I was pretty young. But I've moved since and we've been getting strong storms capable of producing tornadoes and one hit about 10 miles from my house a few hours ago. Please help if you have any advice!! Storms are moving in again!! Thanks!

  • Is this headache something I should worry about?

I rarely get headaches. Literally maybe a minor one every three months. This started a 1:00pm today and is still going on now at 11:30pm. I thought I got it because I was doing a lot of yelling earlier today and was very frustrated. Now I'm not so sure. My entire head hurts, the part that hurts most I would say is the back. And it hurts all the way through my neck even so that my throat hurts. I'm not sure if it's my sinuses (I've only had this problem 2 other times and I'm only 21). It feels like there's so much pressure built up in my head and a lot in my forehead and behind my nose region. The thing that's freaking me out is Once in a while there's a crackling sound inside my head (roughly every hour, lasts for only a second)- this is what makes me wonder if there's mucus built up in there.

    Sorry this is so long.

Can someone please help me figure out what's going on. This hurts and I'm leaving for a very long road trip in 36 hours so I'd like to know if it's anything serious,I really don't want to go to the dr.

If anyone is familiar with this please let me know! thanks!

  • I got home and realized the box of tampons I bought do not say whether they are scented or unscented anywhere!?

They are called Tampax essentials. The regular plastic ones. I have read the box several times and it doesn't tell you anywhere!! This is frustrating because I will not use scented tampons so if anyone knows anything about this please let me know. In the meantime I'm going to get different tampons!

    Thanks!
