Blogging about a problem with my Daughters school.?
I live in a small town in TN; 2 weeks ago my 15 year old daughter was sent on an errand by an office worker to the district HQ across the street with 1 of her friends, and decided to just not go back, to skip school. She is a straight A student, has never been in ANY trouble before, and is on a collegiate track. She got caught, and the principal decided that her and her friend would be sent to "Alternative School" for 3 weeks. I met with him the next day, and asked about alternatives to this, he said it was not open for discussion. I pointed out that his decision violated posted school code in a number of ways; he stayed firm.
I pulled my girl from school, and signed her up for a home school program; I also contacted the state school board, state reps, etc. I'm on Disability, so I would have to really struggle to hire an lawyer.
My question: I'd like to Blog all of this, and cover the experience of trying to homeschool her properly; how can I do it legally? what do I need to avoid?
