3 AnswersCameras1 decade agoIm conflicted, Is it wrong to choose to follow your desire over duty?
I've just finished reading The Mill on the Floss and i can really relate to Maggie Tulliver. This inner conflict is killing me, i need to be free, to follow my desires and live a more care-free artistic life. but at the same im stifled and rendered guilty for thinking about abandoning my duties, dissapointing those who are close to me, and their expectations in me! At the same time, im torn apart by my own paradox..im free-spirited, rebellious yet extremly conservative and timidly conscious. what should i do? Im a Muslim girl, veiled and have my own way with God.

1 AnswerTheater & Acting1 decade agoShould I submit my poems with the conditions applied or negotiate it furthur?
ok so i've just got this message from an online magazine that is looking forward to promote and maybe publish my bits and pieces of poetry. Here is what they said:
"Great work! Let me answer your questions. You remain the owner of all of your work. 21st Street Urban Editing, will promote, advertise and sell your writing on our website. All submissions we accept, will be edited, for free, by one of our agents. We will also submit it to publishing houses we feel fit your need. On the last day of every month, we will send you a check for seventy five percent of the proceeds from your work, along with a an activity report. In return, we ask that any work sold mentions 21st Street Urban Editing as your editor, and an agreement for 25% of all further proceeds grossed based on the sale of your work. (Only work edited and promoted by us.) If you are still interested, please see how to submit on our site."
so Im kinda new to all this, i dont know, it seems to good to be true. Are the rates offered above somehow reasonable for an amateur poet? is it a scam or something I should go for?
Thanks in Advance!
