my rabbit has gas and diarrhea, what do i do?
so, my rabbit is two years old and was one of the healthiest rabbits i knew until not too long ago.
i noticed my rabbits belly was making bubble/gurgle sounds really loud. she wasnt too skinny or too fat, and she was very active. she was okay until i noticed she got a bit skinnier, but her belly was sticking out. i got even more worried after she stopped eating her pellets. she stills eats her hay (timothy hay), but i knew she needed more food than just that. so i gave her grass and dandelions (she loves those). she wasnt picking up any weight, so that still worried me. her poo was exactly the same, but then started getting kind of mushy one day. but yesterday, she got diarrhea. i gave her rice, which she ate. i also picked her up and felt her stomach. it is always gurgling very loud, and i could feel it too. i tried to find out what to do, and found that i should give her simethicone. i've been giving it to her, but i dont know if its helping. she is still very active and she doesnt press her belly to the floor or look uncomfortable. i also noticed she stopped drinking her water. that might have been why she got diarrhea. i put a bowl of water n her cage, which she hasnt even touched. so today, i decided to give her water through a syringe. i basically forced her to drink it :(
so what should i give her to eat/drink? i dont think i can get a vet. they are very expensive, and my parents dont want to pay. once when one of our rabbits were sick, we tried to find a vet, but they were said $80 just for a short checkup. i dont have money for that, so i dont know what to do. i DO want to find a vet, but that is up to my parents.
PLEASE HELP! I dont want my rabbit to die, so what do i do?
