  • Am I making the right choice not to give my mother my money?

My mom wants to send some money overboard for family using my money which to me makes no sense. I worked so hard for this money, and I don't think it's fair for me to just give it all away to "family" I've never met or cared about as rough as that seems. Now she's yelling her brains out at me for saying "No. I want to put it into my savings" .. Should I a) give her the money and let her send it to "family" or b) Stick to my own choice and just shove it all into my savings?

This has happened so many times and I think I've just about had enough. I'm a high school student who barely makes any money. Is this even fair?

  • Teens: How to cope with everyone else feeding into the hype of what's cool and what's not?

I know that I'm coping perfectly fine! There are many people that I know that are so into the hype of whatever is cool and isn't, and I know I'm not one to say I'm not as well, only at times. Just out of curiousity, how do some of you teens out there deal with friends who always want to go partying and you not wanting to? Or, have to deal with friends getting themselves involved in certain things you don't want to be a part of?

  • Teens: What are some really good all time favourite movies of yours?

I have so many favourites! Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead, The Breakfast Club, Adventures in Babysitting, The Goonies, Dennis the Menace, etc! How about yours?

BQ: What's a film that was a commercial success, that had sequels that pretty much ruined the first movie?

For me, I would say Mean Girls! Such a commercial success, and then they decide to make a second version and it was just crap.

  • Teens: A little help here? Not sure how to go with this.?

Hi. I'm 16 year old who lost contact with my father, and ever since I never really knew where he was in years. The only lead I had was my mom's best friend's husband who was also best friends with my dad. But whenever I used to ask about my dad his friend would never tell me anything. Just two hours ago, my dad's friend called my mom and told him that my dad had just died. I was completely shocked. I just started crying because I didn't know what else to do. I realize now that I lost a father who I never got to know and that kills me. I really want to get over this but I don't know how. Please, any advice?

  • Teens: Is anyone else going through the same situation?

I'm 16 years old and I am very energetic, positive, easy to approach and well known around my school. I have great friends and I do well at school. It's just lately I've been feeling extremely 'independent', like I haven't been exactly hanging out with some of my friends in a while, we've all been kind of doing our own thing. Like today at lunch I found myself casually walking around talking to different people, and I know that there's nothing wrong with that, mind you that I am an extremely friendly person and I am the kind of person to just go up to people and start a conversation but I was just wondering if anyone else was going through something like this? It's just started lately..

  • Teens: Has this honestly ever happened to you? I am annoyed.?

So recently I got fired at my first job. It really hit me hard because I was making so many plans with the money I would save up and all. Anyway, the first person I told was my mom whom I thought I could just tell her and just keep it between us two. I told her not to tell anyone else just because I didn't want anyone else to know. It's upsetting! I get a call from my aunt just about an hour ago, and she was mentioning something about Thanksgiving and then asked me how I was doing and then asked me about my job. Funny, how I never told her I had a job which my mom probably did, but then I just kinda told my aunt that "that job is good" and she went off saying "oh I thought you were fired?" And at that moment I literally got so upset because the only person in the family I told was my mom. Forgot to mention how just a day ago, when I got home from school, my cousin was already over and asked me "When did you get fired" I asked him how he knew and then he looked at my mom, then I LOOKED AT MY MOM and she just start smiling and laughing. And I SPECIFICALLY told her not to speak of it and now my aunt knows? I don't think she realizes how annoyed I am, and how upset I am about not having that job anymore. When I confronted her about the call from my aunt she got all defensive saying stuff like "Don't care about what she says! Just ignore your aunt" I just don't get it!

What do I do? Has something like this ever happened to anyone where your trust in someone didn't seem to work out?

.. P.S and my mom WONDERS why I don't tell her ANYTHING. -.-

  • What can I do about this?

Please no rude comments. I'm 16 and I just lost my first very first job. My boss had to let me go. It took me off guard and all I can remember him saying was that he had to let me go. I'm not sure but I think it's because I didn't really have much experience with the job I had and I needed to work much faster :( I'm trying to look for another job but I'm still saddened about this. How do I deal with getting fired? Especially with your first job?

  • Teens: How would you go about dealing with this?

It's still summer and I've happened to go out more than often and I'd come like later on in the evening at some days, such as today. I come home and my mom and I were talking and all of a sudden she mentioned how I'm always ditching her, and always out of the house at 16 and that sooner or later I won't want to be anywhere near her. It absolutely broke my heart that she would think that I wouldn't want to have anything to do with her later on in the future. I literally want to cry! What would you do/say in this situation?

  • Teens: Is anyone else going through something like this? :(?

I'm 16, and I come from a big family, on my mom's side (Filipino). My Godsister recently gave birth and she is only 19, while another cousin of mine is being shunned for always spending more time with her boyfriend and doesn't cooperate with our family as well as she should. I feel that at times, I am being compared to either one of them. Whenever someone brings up my Godsister, or talks about the baby, it's like they mention how marriage is important and then after a marriage, I should have a child.. or when it comes to the cousin that spends most of her time with her boyfriend, family members will ask me if I have a boyfriend, and when I reply with a 'no', they say things like "good, you don't need one. Focus on school, you don't need to spend your time with boys". IT absolutely bothers me! Now I understand my family can be strict and traditional about things but honestly.. Is there anyway I can get out of this annoyance? :(

  • Teens: What would you do in this situation?

'Cos I actually don't know what to do. So it's summer and most of my friends are in summer school and one of them, plus myself and another friend planned for the three of us to hang out today, in about an hour or two. We made plans for today since last week and I even told my mom about my plans (she was fine with it) and well, last night my family had an argument and when I woke up this morning, my mom was so grumpy that she just started yelling about the most smallest things ever. When she saw me getting ready to go out she started assuming things and she basically kept saying how I'm always out of the house and I never help out, especially since we're in the midst of moving out soon. I DON'T go out all the time, and when I do I check up with her.. and I do help out at home it's just most of the time the help is already done by someone else, so maybe it does look like I don't do anything.. She just started yelling and yelling and I can't even get a word in. I don't know what to do like, what would you do in a situation like this?

  • Teens: I'm a bit worried? ..?

I just received a call from an unknown number and I'm kinda worried that it was a call from a workplace that I got an interview with.. is there a slight chance that if it was the work place that they would call me back? My stupid blackberry was on my case and it kept shutting off and on, so I couldn't answer the call :(
