i just want to know what's a good way to get girls to like you?

what does it mean when girls send you one word texts back? or if they don't text you back at all? does it mean they don't want to talk to you or what?

so i had a dream last week about this girl, beth. We had a thing about a year ago, we texted pretty much all the time, but we don't really talk anymore. so in this dream i was riding in a car with this kid and then he asked me "beth seemed like she was much happier when you guys had a thing, now she just seems kind of depressed." then a few days later she called me, kind of just to mess with me, but still. i kind of still like her so... what does this mean? what should i do?

My friend, cole, is super cool and awesome. He's pretty much the coolest person i know.
