After almost 5 years of travel and research we have purchased our retirement home in Costa Rica and we are spending as much time there as we can.

We have just started the process of obtaining permanent "pensionado" status so we can spend the entire winters there.

I would like to hear from anybody that has gone through this process that can let me know how long it took and any unexpected surprises you faced.

We were told buying a home was a straight forward process and can write a book on the "unexpected" or surprises we hit.

If you had a 1976 Triumph Spitfire as the donor car what drive train have you or would you put in it?

I want to swap out the entire drive train and have never really investigated what would fit with the least amount of hassle.

If so have you had any issues with the Spinner cracking?

I have received a recall notice on the new Top prop spinner due to the spinner bolt holes cracking on some Mooney's,

I have not had any issues but i only have 115 hours on mine.

Just wondering if anybody else here has that prop / spinner combination regardless of what you fly and if you have had any issues with it.

My 2010 dodge 1500 4 X 4 has a damaged tire. The other 3 tires are almost new but the tire shop says I must change all 4 or it will damage my front differential due to the fact that the " wheels will be rotating at a different RPM". i know this is true if you have 2 different tire sizes on a 4 X 4 ,but is it also true you must change all 4 if all 4 wheels are the same size and you only wish to replace a damaged tire?

I saw this online as the instructions to land a Cessna 172. Whats wrong with this instruction? 10 points to the first person to spot it.

"Raise the nose slightly as your reduce power a few feet from the landing and apply the brakes to bring you to the ground. Continue to reduce power as the plane comes to a stop."

I just did a little research due to some people claiming to be a Delta pilot and found out it is a felony to do so.

Did anybody else know it was a felony?
