U.S. Army- 25S

My younger cousin joined the national guard a couple of months ago and went to his first RSP drill last month. He has apparently had a change of heart and came to me asking how he can get out of the guard before basic training. I am somewhat familiar with Army policies but not so much NG policies with these issues. I would really like to help him out so any info is helpful. What all do they check for secret clearance jobs in the military and how long does it usually take to get your clearance?

Can I file a lawsuit for misdiagnosis? I was told by my doctor about 5 years ago that I have Chron's discease and since then I have spent thousands of dollars on doctor visits, blood labs, tests, expensive prescriptions, etc. I have shown absolutely no symptoms at all of this for almost two years. Not even a little. I asked for a second opinion and my current doctor basically told me that whoever diagnosed me must have been on cocaine. Do I have a case for a lawsuit against the doctor/hospital that diagnosed me?
