  • How can I get my dog to go up stairs?

I have a two year old GSD and I have recently introduced her to the stairs. There are 12 wooden steps but they're somewhat steep. I have tried to put treats on the steps to reward her for trying but she has never brought her back feet off of the main floor. (She just walks her front legs up) When I try to encourage her, she whines and retreats. This is not her first experience with stairs but this is the first staircase that has more than five steps that she's encountered. Even with stairs which had only two steps intimidated her. She ended up conquering the steps on her own eventually but I think because this is such a big feat in comparison, it might not be that easy.

  • Playmate for my dog?

My dog just died and my two year old girl German shepherd seems to be somewhat depressed over the loss (along with everyone else). We don't plan on getting another dog in the future but my friends suggested that our dogs can be play mates. Her dog is a three year old German shepherd who is not neutered. (My dog is spayed). She suggested that we meet somewhere other than our house because the dogs may become territorial. We have a place that we can go. So would there be anything that may be bad about this plan? Ps. My dog is not at all aggressive and neither is her dog (her dog lives with a chihuahua and is gentle). Also, my deceased dog was not spayed either and we had no problems but he was 6 when we got my gsd.

  • Should I keep playing basketball?

I've been playing basketball for 4 years and I've been doing year round basketball for a year. (Since last spring). I really like the game and I liked my regular season team. I'm going into highschool this fall and I want to play basketball then. I don't really want to play spring/summer ball because I'm treated like the worst on the team even though im not "bad". I always am the one to sit out when we practice with more players than we need. Games haven't started yet but I probably won't play then either. Also, they play me down low and I was always a guard last season. I'm shorter than the rest of the posts and I'm not going to do well against them. This whole situation makes me feel sick. My parents also paid a lot of money for this league which makes me feel worse. I don't want to be ungrateful but I don't want to be turned away from basketball forever. It just comes down to how I don't like the coaches decisions and Im sure I'm not bad at basketball. I'm equally good at ball handling with both hands and I can shoot pretty consistent threes and I'm consistent with every other shot. I'm not the fastest on the team but im not the slowest. And I try and im not disrespectful at practice. I don't know.

  • My dog won't go into the family room?

I have a one year old. German shepherd and she is normal except for her fright of the family room. My family room is a step down from the rest of the house so at first I thought that was why she was afraid but there are steps in other areas of the house which she never had problems with. Also, there is carpeting in the family room and there isn't any throughout the rest of the house. I think that is the real reason of her fright. I've put treats on the step for her to walk down and eat them and got her to have both feet on the bottom step and her head reached down to get a treat that was sitting on the carpet. She's never (that I know of) had any bad experiences in that room so I don't know what it could be. How can I let her see that it is not a scary place, and that she can go down into the room?

  • My dogs afraid of the family room?

I have a year old german shepherd. We've had her since she was about 9 weeks old. She is normal except for her fear of going into our family room. The family room is a step down from the rest of our house. At first, I thought that it was the steps that she was afraid of. But then, I realized that we have steps on our deck and going outside that she never had any trouble with. Now, I think that it's the carpet because we don't have carpet anywhere else in the house. Whenever I'm there, she whimpers. When she tries to go down, she makes it to the first step, then quickly goes back up. I've tried putting treats on the steps and at one point had her to reaching her head down and eating the treat off of the actual carpet but nothing more than that. How do I let her know that there's nothing to be afraid of and that the family room isn't a scary place?

  • How to make a dog bring a ball straight back to you?

I have a year old german shepherd. When she was about 4 months old, I started playing fetch with her (only a ball tossed a few feet away) and she surprised me by knowing to come straight to me and drop it. Now, we have been playing fetch where I throw it far. She is really good at catching the ball (sometimes she can catch in the air) but she is bad with giving it back and dropping it in front of me. She runs to me as if she were going to give it to me, then sprints off in another direction. Eventually, she lies down and drops it so I pick it up and throw it again. How can I teach her to catch the ball, bring it back straight to me, and drop it in front of me?

  • What to do with my bettas food?

My Betta fish died a while ago and I am thinking about a new fish. I had just gotten him food about a month ago and have most of it left. I don't know if I want another betta. They are pretty and interesting to watch but they usually aren't suitable tank mates. I have a tank with a filter, decorations and pebbles. Are there some fish that eat betta fish food?

  • How to make my hair curly again?

When I was little, I had really tight curls (you could barely put your pinky finger inside of them. Then, when I turned 6, my hair started getting wavy. When I was 11, I was straightening my hair almost every day! Also, I used this really damaging hair color. That was really bad for my hair so I started not straightening it altogether. I got it cut and got a treatment to moisturizer it and repair it. Now, I am 13. M hair is really wavy and sometimes a few curls in my longer hair (my hair is about 24 in. Long.) And when I put my hair up, there is a thin, bottom layer of hair that is too short to go into a pony tail (like an inch or two long) and they look exactly like what my hair looked like when I was younger. So I was wondering if eventually, all of my hair will be that curly once again. I REALLY WANT CURLY HAIR AGAIN. Also, is there any way I could get it again? (I don't really want to cut my hair a lot.

  • Dogs dreaming?

One day, I was sitting at the kitchen table, doing a project. My 10 month old (overly attached) german shepherd girl was sleeping at my feet and my 7 year old Australian shepherd boy was behind me. All of a sudden, I feet my puupy's feet kicking from under the table. Then, I hear a thumping and it's my other dog's legs hitting the counter while he also is kicking in his sleep. Why did they both have running dreams (I read that that's why they kick) at the same time? Also, my Australian shepherd makes muffled barking sounds when he sleeps. He never barks when he's awake though. Should I wake him up? And my german shepherd barks while she's awake but never when she sleeps but she rolls her eyes a lot while she is sleeping.

  • How much would getting a b flat clarinet repaired cost?

I realized while playing my clarinet that in my upper joint, the keys that are used to play e and d were broken. With a closer inspection, I noticed that a screw near the bridge had come out. I don't know where the screw is. The rings actually came off my clarinet while I played one time. (That's when I first noticed it). So I want to get that repaired. All it needs is a new screw, which I can't find to repair it myself. I want to get it repaired at Music and Arts store. So how much would that cost? (About)

  • How to get over hating math?

I absolutely HATE IT! I LOVE reading and it's my strong point. I'd rather have ELA all day. Now I get so frustrated because I don't understand any of it. Everyone in my math class is so smart making me feel really stupid. They all understand it and I can't concentrate on what my teacher is saying. I don't know how I can continue to do this any longer. It used to not be so bad but now I feel trapped because I can't simply get out of math class. How can I learn to like (or at least tolerate) math?

  • Do dogs eventually give up trying to mate?

I have a nine month and one week old german shepherd female puppy and a seven year old Australian shepherd male. My puppy just got her first heat so we have been separating them because neither of them are fixed. We scheduled her to be fixed in three weeks. At first, my male whined like crazy and howled too! (He never howls) we have been giving him a lot of attention too. He seems more happy and at ease. I know they haven't mated already because we've made sure that there is no possible way for them to interact.

So is he done trying to mate with her? (Hopefully)

P.S. Don't reply saying I'm a bad owner for not getting her fixed before. We were just planning on getting her fixed after her first heat.

  • How to make my dogs not mate?

My dog is an austraillian shepherd and he is six. My other one is a girl German shepherd and she is only five months old! They are both not fixed because my Australian shepherd is a show dog. Will my German shepherd not let him mate with her? If not, how do I make them stop until I can get her fixed.

  • My knee hurts when I walk on it?

I've just been noticing that whenever I put pressure on my left knee, I get a sharp pain right in the middle. It is only when I put pressure on it though. My basketball season just started and I haven't been running this much before basketball. I haven't fallen once this season and I didn't bang it on anything I can think of. Why is my knee hurting and how can I fix it?

  • My dog is jealous of my new puppy?

We got a new puppy on Saturday. She is a 9 week old German shepherd. Our six year old Australian shepherd used to like her when she arrived. Now, he is really jealous of her. He takes her toys and destroys them, and he tried to bite her on the neck. Whenever we give him attention, he is always giving her dirty looks. He was brought up by himself so he's not used to sharing with another dog. How can I make him like her?

  • Advice for a girl who has played basketball and tennis?

I play besketball now, and plan to play next year as well. I don't really feel well rounded in sports, so I am thinking about playing tennis. I heard you have to run a lot? That doesn't bother me much. But can you tell me the pros and cons of tennis, and how they relate to basketball or do not relate to basketball? Like do you always have the same partner? Please respond.

  • How can I cure my shoulder blade?

All day, I have had a pain in my shoulder blade/back area. It is more of an ache than pain in my opinion, but I can't relieve it in any position. I was mostly sitting down all day an I kept trying to stretch but it didn't work. What can I do to cure it? (Besides taking a painkiller) and what is this from? Did I just sleep on it wrong or something?
