I have a 97 Ford aerostar Van. It would not go in to second. Several people said yeah it needs transmission.?
Now because I could not find anyone that had a pullout for that car. I just left it set. Now 6 months later I went out and it seems to work OK. Any thoughts on what could be wrong that might not require a transmission. The trans. was drained and that amount of fluid replaced and filter also replaced. It was not flushed.
2 AnswersFord1 decade agoI have a 95 Olds.Cutlass Station wagon. It has a 4-speed automatic and a 3.1 liter engine?
When I would go into reverse I would hear a little ticking sort of noise. Now it did this for maybe 7000 miles, but worked ok otherwise. No problems in forward gears. Now all the sudden it would not go into any gears. The transmission fuild is not burned and does not smell and is at the level it should be. A friend says probably filter is clogged and needs replacing, which I will have done. Now if fluid is nice and red can the filter still get clogged, all of the sudden. Feels like it just does not pump up so it will go into any gear. Any thoughts. In our town most anything they say needs a complete overhaul...and cost like over $2000. My wife likes her 95 O
