I'm very interested in how to be able repair and properly maintain electric guitars. However, I'm very inexpereinced at this, and am starting by just installing new, super-cheap, pickups/switch/pots, etc, to my Stagg guitar.

Considering I don't care about quality of sound at this point, and i'm in this for only the experiece, what would you recommend I use for my pots? What are the differences between the different types? ie. 500k, 250k, 100k, 1m, etc.?

If I were to start focusing on quality in the future, how would my choice of pots change? Is it all personal preference, or are there certain ones that are just plain better than others?

I know that's a lot of questions, but thank you all for helping me out.

P.s. I'm building this all on a Stagg designed like a Fender Strat, so I'm using two toner and one volume pots with three single coil pickups, if that helps.

On my HP laptop, I've installed Microsoft Office 2013. I have all the applications and can open them easily from their file in the "all programs" thing.

However, that's the only place I can find them. Through searching on my computer, I can't seem to find the file containing all the programs, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc). I need to move that entire file, containing all the programs, into another area on my computer.

I've tried moving the Microsoft Office 2013 file under 'all programs' onto the desktop to try and find the programs, but when I open the file, nothing is in it. When I drag it back to 'all programs,' they're there again!

I'm super confused, and would love a solution for this problem. Ask away if you need any more information to help me solve this. Thank you!

I have a pretty basic model of the HP Premium Experience.

My mother made an account and installed Microsoft Office 2013 on it with all the bells and whistles and whatnot. Now that she has her own laptop, I have no need for her account. On MY account, however, I do not have any version of Microsoft Office, except for the dumb 2010 starter stuff. I would like to transfer all the Microsoft Office 2013 programs, (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) onto my account.

Just to clarify, this is all happening on ONE computer, and I'm not trying to transfer simple word files, or whatever, but the ENTIRE installed program so that I can use Microsoft Office 2013 on my account, and delete the unused one.

How would I go about doing this? Thanks for the help!!

I have recently installed Minecraft onto my laptop, and the only way it can run is if everything is on the lowest setting/quality, and even then it's a little choppy.

What are some things that I can do to speed up my computer without spending too much money?

I play in a metal band, so I obviously I want a setup that can get a hard, crunchy kinda sound. Right now, I'm using a Line 6 Spider IV while playing pretty much only on Insane with a treble turned all the way up. To give you an idea of what it might sound like, I'm using a Fender Stratocaster and I primarily use the bridge pickup for everything. I don't use any pedals at the moment, but I am more than willing to try some really good distortion or overdrive pedals if you think it would help my sound.

Well, my brother has just recently received a new iPhone and is giving me his old 3g one.

The problem is, is that I already have a phone and i don't want to spend the extra 15 dollars a month just to use a new one. The only thing I would be using the iPhone for would be games, music, etc. I would not be using it to make calls or send texts.

Is there a way for me to use my iPhone as a regular iTouch to access the apps that are on it without paying for the data plan?
