Gardenia species Vetchii vs August Beatuy?
My landscapers bought 8 gardenias to plant, 4 vetchii (dwarf) and 4 august beatuy (standard height). Trouble is, the pots aren't marked, the plants are all the same height/size right now, and none of them have their buds open to judge by bloom size. Is there any other way I can tell them apart? The leaves look identical to my untrained eye. I've been waiting all week for a bud to open, but they're still stubbornly clammed shut. The planting location matters, since one gets 2-3 feet, and the other gets 4-8 feet.

I have two (one each) potted dwarf meyer lemon and a dwarf mexican lime trees that produce beautiful, fragrant lemons and limes and great strong foliage, but while the fruits are juicy, the liquid has absolutely no citrus flavor nor acidity. It's basically just sugar water. Any idea what I can do resolve this?
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape8 years agoNavel orange tree, sulfur smell in fruit?
My healthy navel orange tree produces wonderfully each year, but I have noticed that some (not most) of the ripe fruit inside have a strong sulfur smell in the navel end, without any evidence of decay. The orange smells right before it is peeled, the fruit is nice and firm, and the pith and skin are still fresh and springy. The rest of the orange segments smell ok, but the navel "plug" really stinks.
Any ideas what might be causing this?
