I'm a 51 year old disabled retiree. I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I've lived long enough to have some of the answers figured out. I'm a first-generation Trekkie; I love to read/watch sci-fi and fantasy stories. I like good food, and I can cook *really* good! And I'm addicted to penny poker.

  • How is Variegated (multicolored) yarn made?

I'm specifically interested in the large-scale production, but if someone out there makes small batches at home, I'd still like to know.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Help with a weird bread machine!?

I've never seen anything like it; my room mates bread-making machine has two one-pound pans in it. The bread mix is for a two-pound loaf. I need suggestions as to the best way to split the box and water into the two pans. My first attempt was less than successful. Please, all input welcome. I really like home-made bread. Please help

  • Should CNN Headline News Channel go back to airing 1/2 hour "sound-bite" highlights of current world news?

I loved that channel and the format! If I watched an hour's worth of show, I had a pretty good grasp of what was happening in the world. Even if they only gave us 1/2 hour every two hours, that would still cut down on how much time creatures like Nancy Grace would have to try to bludgeon the humanity out of people's lives and souls. Every time I have the misfortune to stumble onto her show, Ms. Grace isn't discussing the news; she's extolling the horror of yet another dead baby, in microscopic detail.

Are any of you guys reading this, old enough to remember "Chicken Noodle News?"

Who's with me? Let's try to get HLN back from the freak show mentality!
