I have an 8mm cassette recorder/player and several hours of film and some of these have already been transferred to VHS. I'm wanting to transfer these tapes to DVD. These are 2 minute to 30 minute family movies so retaining quality is a must. Most movies are of the kids when they were little, now they are in college. When I transfer the movies with my level of knowledge, 15 minutes is HUGE and can't fit on the disc. I'm not that concerned about the format. Yes, I'd like them (prefer them) to be played on a standard DVD player, however as long as someone can pop it into a computer and play it with virtually any software, I can live with that.

I have Pinnacle, the software and transfer device. I no longer have Ulead, my trial expired before I got a chance to really use it for this project. I will be editing so it doesn't have frames from the clip before it or after it on the tape. Also editing will include some text dialog at the bottom with commentary, dates, names. This we do know how to do, pretty basic part of any movie software I've used.

I'm a graphics designer. I'm a little out of my element when it gets beyond a gif image. I'll be honest.

So my questions are:

1. What program should I use? Is there a free version/trial since money is an issue today?

2. Does anyone know how to do it in Pinnacle?

3. How do I retain quality but a low file size?

4. What format do I use? (AVI, MPEG...)

5. Are there any tutorials for this program online anywhere?

6. Can I contact you further if I have more questions?

I used to have a book that was a how-to about hole punches. It showed how to create animals and people by using simple standard shapes from different hole punches, like circles, squares, hearts and triangles. It come up missing. Does anyone know of a website that has these examples? Not looking to buy the book again. I need something I can view online.

Can you list a bunch of the titles of some movies to watch? Date of release, rating and how good it is isn't a big factor. Anything goes. We can look up more details about them on www.imdb.com and find the posters on www.impawards.com.

The stimulus check is an advance on next years tax refund. You will have to deduct that amount from your refund amount. If your refund is less than the stimulus they say you don't have to pay it back. So if you got $1200 for the stimulus and normally get about $5000 back every year, plan on having less money next spring. The proof can be found on the IRS website as well as H&R Block's site. When the government chose to give they weren't using both hands (one was behind their backs with their fingers crossed).

I'm paying $3800 a year on a class 401 property and the neighbor is paying $1200 a year on a 201 property of the same size. What's the difference in class? This will help me understand why the big difference (but it won't explain why McDonald's in my town only pays $900 a year for their double lot).

I'm signing up my blog to Feedburner. Is there a better choice between Atom and RSS? I have both feeds enabled. I'm trying to allow my content to be grabbed by anyone by any choice they prefer that way I'm not alienating any individual. I myself like to have a choice, which is why I offer them.

I know there are several different varieties of shells that can be made, but I am borrowing the shell baker and wanted to spend the day making a bunch and freezing them for later. These shells will be made from items suggested in the cookbook, like crescent roll, bisquit and quick breads.

I have Windows Vista Home Basic but I need to know if I have 64 bit or 32 bit to download drivers from HP. How do I check to find out which one I have?

I create graphics and it is important that I have good color. I found out that most people see the colors that match my desktop's coloring, not to mention that photos show on the desktop match items in real life. My laptop softens them, so a hot pink shows more subtle and more purple, a lemon yellow shows tan. How do I change this? I'm also running Vista HB.

I owe this girl some money, $350 and it's been over a year. I am not working because I got injured and haven't been able to go back. I can't afford to pay her back, not even a few dollars, not right now. She's threatening to take me to small claims, but that doesn't change the fact that I can't pay her, I'm not refusing to pay. I gave her collateral of an unknown value, but it's worth at least the $600 I paid for them. By her accepting collateral, doesn't that exempt me from her harassement, though I would like the items back really bad I can live without them and she does do the ebay thing. Morally I would like to pay her back. If I can't afford to pay for my car insurance this month, I certainly can't pay her. She's never contacted me directly, she does it through people we know and they are caught in the middle, and she ignores my calls and emails. I have sent her a letter, no response. We are in Michigan.

The above link is to the episode I am talking about. There is a song played in the background, I know it was somewhat popular but I am deprived of an antenna in my car so I don't listen to radio. I download music when I have my paypal charged. I really like the song. Sorry I can't remember any words to it. This is the episode where "Sandra O'Bannon" took over Allison's body, her husband killed her and made his girlfriend look like her twin. Joe put Allison in the psych ward because of her being Sandra.

I made an avatar, then another. They show up in everything else but Answers. I gave it a couple days. Nope. No pic. In edit profile there's nothing and it won't let me toggle between the three choices. What am I doing wrong? I'm not dumb when it comes to the net, but this one's got me.

During tonight's baseball game, Tiger catcher Rodriquez was hurt in the foot. I asked a question that all men in the house couldn't agree on an answer about. If the catcher chooses to catch, though injured, can he still be in the game but not ever be at bat? Or does he have a runner for his at bats? One of the guys said once he is too injured to do his next role as a player he's out for the game.

We are having a problem installing Diablo II on our new computer. It was running fine on the old one running XP. We are now using Vista Home Basic. I did download the so called patch. Is this patch what I need to make it work? I installed it, the desktop icon appeared, then I get a message saying that there is a compatibility issue between the two. We are not trying to play the game online (battle.net). I have tried to ask this on their forums but I don't have a battle.net account. We do have a CD key though. Any ideas?
