  • Question About Funeral Costs Help?

    My daughter's best friends mother passed away last week. She was 41, leaving behind two sons. 18 & 20. Neither sons have income. They are completely overwhelmed and at a loss. I'm trying to help, I've called her work to find out if she had benefits to cover this. No one knows if there was a 'Will' or life insurance. She was a single mom.

    I know they can apply for the $255 from Social Security, but honestly, we ALL know that is just a small drop in the bucket. I know cremation is cheaper, but I don't know their family's beliefs on this matter.

    We are in California, Riverside County. If ANYONE knows of any ways to get help for funeral costs, please let me know.
