Saturday I got a lot of work done on my left arm, from my wrist to the base of my shoulder, and I was in the chair for about 7 and a half hours. My hand is pretty swollen now, and I might just be getting a little paranoid because I've never had my hand swell up before from my tattoos. I have a full sleeve on my right arm and my chest done, but i did those in separate sessions with a few weeks between them, yet none really swelled and all healed pretty fast. I know its only on day 3 but my hand is pretty puffy and I think I'm just looking for reassurance. The tattoo itself is just starting to scab now and I've been treating it well, washing with anti bacterial fragrance free soap and I am applying lotion. Just looking for some answers, since google was feeding me the same wikihow links.

I've started the quest Ancient Technology, where you are sent to retrive some crossbow schematics, and I get to the cave, kill the bandits and all, but the door is up this waterfall. I can't find a way to get up the waterfall. There aren't any switchs or pulleys or secret doors, i've checked the map and it show only the one way to get there. Anyone know the way?

I'm a Poolee in the USMC and I have been for 8 months now, and my MOS is 1371, Combat Engineer. Now I honestly don't want to ship out to Japan. Its not a place I want to go to because I honestly have no interest in going. Can I request my duty station to be stateside? Can I also request deployments? Say I want to go to Afghanistan, can I request to be deployed there?

Also, what is my first station most likely going to be?

I've been having to run a lot since enlisting in the Marine Corps obviously and I can run decently but what stops me from reaching my potential is that I get a pain in my back when I run more than a mile. It's in my mid back or rib cage and it feels like a really hard pull/strain in my back muscle, but it only happens when I run. Anyone have any idea what's going on? I can't seem to temporarily fix it with anything like aleve, i tried.

Alright guys I've gotten myself into a little bit of a problem here, and I'd like a bit of info on the situation if you can spare it.

I'm a Poolee in the Marine Corps. I went through MEPS and am currently in DEP, with a set ship date of July 23, 2012. I have a girl who goes to college in Mississippi, and she wants me to go to college and go ROTC so that we can be together for 4 years. We've been together a long time, and I want to be with her, but I think its too late for me to switch into ROTC now. I swore in and signed my contract and everything, but she wants me to see if I can switch into ROTC now.

The college is Ole Miss, and its a great school for my interests, however I don't like school at all, I dont have great grades, (my GPA is about 75%) and I've never taken an SAT/ACT at all, so I dont really see how I'm getting in to any college except community. I want to be with her, but I dont want to go through 4 more years of school to be honest. But we all have to make sacrifices for the people we love.

So what do you say? Is it possible? Should I do it if is?

I've been researching Security Forces, and its my number 1 choice out of my 4 jobs that I had to choose, but I had a few questions.

I've noticed that a lot of people tend to be deploying to areas such as Spain and Greece. Is this common? I know that I'll be put where the Corps needs me to be, but is it possible to request state-side deployment? such as Kings Bay, Pax River and other Naval Bases? How long are deployments over seas? Less than a year? More than a year? I have a girlfriend going to college, she left yesterday, and I don't deploy till July 23, 2012., and she's freaking out a bit because her cousin's boyfriend is a Marine, too, and he's deployed out to Japan right now for the next two years, and she's worried I'll be gone for that long as well. I just want some solid confirmed info to help calm her down. Her father was in the Army, so she knows about his deployment lengths, but not Marines. Additional Info on deployments and such (besides my questions above) is much appreciated.

I'm taking the ASVAB on Monday, and with the way my scores are going, my recruiter is saying I'll be able to choose from any job I want. While I know that what job I get isn't up to me, its based on the needs of the Marine Corps, I'm going to be given three jobs to choose from. So far I can't decide which I want to do more, Combat Engineer (MOS 1371) or Small Arms Repair Technician (MOS 2111), with Military Police being my third choice. I love tinkering and engineering, and I've always had a fascination with weapons and how they work. I built a fully functional Sten Gun Mark 2 in engineering using Inventor 2010.

I have a lot of information on 1371, but I don't know a lot about the 2111 MOS. So I have a few questions: How often does 2111 get deployed? and where would I be deployed to? What base will I be stationed at state side? What weapons will I be working on? and lastly, how fast do promotions come in this MOS? I know Infantry is very slow to promote.

I'm currently in DEP, and I still have a year to go until I ship out for basic training. I love physical activity, so I am striving to get well above a first class score in PT and a first class swim qualification. (Although apparently you don't get to first class swim qual in basic anymore).

If I were to go to a pool wearing BDU pants, a t shirt, and boots to work on swim training, would Marines find that offensive? I know a few former Army guys who don't take kindly to people wearing any sort of military gear at all (mostly my grandfather). So I was just wondering if Marines would find that offensive at all?

Before you read this, just know that this is a completely non factual piece of writing, and is only being posted here as a way to see your reactions to what you would do if this actually happened. Things such as "wtf are you retarded, this won't ever happen" aren't necessary, as this is kind of an experimental "role playing" experience.

Let's say that a new govt party is established, different from both republicans and democrats, and it overpowers them all to the point where it takes over the White House. The part has control of an entire privatized military force that they use to essentially take over the US. Imagine a sort of American "V for Vendetta." They control of the economy, they establish military personnel in every major city to enforce new laws, and have very little concern for the rights of the people. They force the people to work, they start reaping natural resources from national parks/other areas such as Alaska, and the such. America has kept their alliance with England, and has offered them the chance for taking back parts of America for the ability to claim resources in Europe. English soldiers/corrupt business' have established themselves throughout the west coast and south east (Florida/Georgia/Tennessee/etc). They are given essentially unlimited restrictions on rights, and do what they want with the people of the areas where they have established themselves. America has become a completely self sufficient country, as the dollar has reached its highest value, but the ability for the people to sustain even the bare minimum of life is low. Unemployment is rare, but at the cost of forced labor for extremely low wages. Social life is demolished, and the ability to publicize information is illegal. Social networks have been abolished, newspaper companies are run only by the new govt, therefor only print what they deem fit.

Sorry for the long read, but with the situation presented, what would you do as a civilian of this new America? Would you try and go by with what you have? Would you rebel? Would you risk everything in an all out war? Or would you take a more civil route of proposing rights and such for the people? Do you think they deserve a peaceful offer?

I've heard that when you are about to get deployed, you can buy certain gear such as hand warmers and possibly even sweatshirts and the like. Could i buy something like a KA-BAR to use in service? because when i'm finished i would like to keep my knife that i used. so unless they allow me to keep my knife that they issue me, can i do this? and what other kinds of gear am i allowed to buy if any?

So i'm going to join the Marines once i finish up high school, and i've been looking at all of the MOS' in Infantry, and i came across Reconnaissance Man, and had two questions about it.

1. Is this consider Marine Force Recon? in the description it mentioned being a part of Marine Special Operations Command, but i wasn't sure if they're both the same thing.

2. There are additional skills to pursue as a Recon Man, such as Recon Man, Parachute Qualified (MOS 0323), Combatant Diver Qualified (MOS 0324), and Parachute and Combatant Diver Qualified (MOS 0326).

Continuing the question part, well multiple questions part. how do i obtain the first class swimmer qualification? Its a requirement, but do they teach you this in boot camp? or do you have to take a seperate course or school? and if i wish to pursue becoming a Parachute, Combatant Diver, or be qualified in both, can i do that in my first contract? or will i have to go through my first contract as a Recon Man, and then if i do another contract, will the Parachute or Combatant Diver MOS's be available?

So if i join the marines, get selected for the scout sniper program, go through it and pass, but get selected as the spotter, will i ever be able to actually be the one shooting the rifle? or will i be the spotter for the rest of my career?

Ok I'm trying to make my owN rapid fire wired controller but I'm having some trouble. I am using a toggle switch instead of a button and I connected the wire to the switch and decided to test it by putting the ends where they needed to be attached and it worked but it only fired once every time. I have to continuesly rub the wire over the led in order for it to work. If anyone can help please do so. I think I have an old wired controller if that helps

Ok, i want to buy a car that's used, and i want it to be under 10k but i also want a mustang.... that's hard to find, i know, but i love the car and i'm willing to work to get a lot of money to buy one. the thing is i want one that's at least a 2005 model or later. i just finished making my ghillie suit for airsoft, but the colors didn't come out right. they are much darker than it said it would and i never realized until i laid it out in the environment i was gonna use it in. its more like a forest green than a grass green. Should i use spray paint or anything else?
