  • CSharp File Association?

I have created a Lua IDE, and it works fine, can handle open with and everything.

But when I give it a file association through setup and deployment to open .lua and an icon, they do not get applied! I then tried to associate it with a .text extension and an icon and it worked. So is this a confliction with the lua program (Which is currently assigned to .lua). If so how do I overwrite it so it opens with my program and shows the icon like it did with .test? Do I need to mess with the registry?

  • What do you think will happen when or if Texas leaves the Union?

If you have been paying attention to the news, you would know that the people of Texas and many other states have been signing petitions to secede from the Union.

Texas has reached more than enough signatures to get White House attention. And Louisiana is almost there too and the petitions have still 26 or so days left to gain more signatures.

  • Windows 8 App Development?

Right now I have a problem with the Windows App Store.

I am 17 and I have an app that lets say is not existent on the app store that I want to put on the app store before someone else posts one. Yet the dilemma is that M$ requires you to be 18 to post apps. I find this very insulting being that I am a developer trying to make money before I am 18. Would a parent legally be allowed to create a dev account for myself to post my apps with?

  • Taking files off broken computer.?

This is what the situation is:

I have a computer with a fried motherboard and with a hard drive that may or may not work infected with nasty malware. I was thinking that I can remove the internal hard drive and mount it in a Linux partition on another computer to retrieve the files and then make sure they are virus free.

Can I do this? If so what are the steps to do so?

  • Custom Chrome OS Build?

I have used Hexxehs builds of chromium os in virtualbox and decided I want to install it on a thumb drive to boot. It works fine but his builds lack support for my wifi driver Realtek RTL8188CE. I have a Windows Ubuntu dual boot and basic terminal knowledge (Navigating files and installing via sudo *n00b*) and want to build chromium os with driver support and hardware support for this computer.

  • Dual boot Win7 and Ubuntu. Safe to upgrade to Win8?

I may have to upgrade to Win8 and is it safe to upgrade my Win7 installation to Win8. I'm wondering in-case it affects my Linux installation.

NOTE: My Win7 has a theme patcher installed so I can install themes.

  • Strange stuff in Ketchup...?

My family bought some Del Monte Ketchup in the Stanislaus County area of California. When I used the ketchup after shaking to put on my burger, It refused to come and and with enough force a blob of yellow stuff came out.

I am worried about what this stuff is in my ketchup and how I should report it. I found one report that the U.S Army recalled it for similar but different matters.
