I understand the the chances of Ivy League are already extremely low for most, but I still want to ask anyways. I'm a sophomore this year, grade ten. Last year I had a 96 average and got Top Academic of the grade (which includes around 500 people). My specialty was French, believe it or not... But somehow, this year we have a new a french teacher. She's unusually strict and I'm actually having major difficulty in her class, not to mention that she hates me (for some really silly reasons). She doesn't speak a word of english, and every day when we go in, she randomly calls us up to have an oral conversation. I mean, I'm good at writing and reading french, but I've never been THAT great at oral. Whenever I stand up and she looks me in the eye speaking french faster than I've ever heard, I have no idea what to say back, nor do I have the itime to actually think if the grammar I'm replying is correct...

I could probably pass this class, but I estimate only about 75% and I would rather die than get 75%. I'm worried about my mark to the point that I'm actually having nightmares about it and scared to go into that class because I know I'm not gonna mess things up. We also have about 15 french immersians in my class (people who take half day french and half day english at their middle school) so it just happens to be that my french is below grade level rather than as great as in grade 9.

I'm thinking of switching to applied (from academic grade 10 french), if it means I can get my grades back to 95+. I know this is like running away from my problems, but I never expected it to be this difficult. There really isn't anything I can do because it's impossible to surpass those who have learned french all their life in just one semester. If I did switch to applied, do you think this would affect my chances of getting into a good university? Or my dream of Ivy League (which probably seems impossible right now)? I hear that most universities only pay attention to grade 11 and 12 marks, but who knows what would happen 3 years from now, right?

I've thought about this for a while now, and I'm almost positive that I'm going to switch. Describing it in words...really doesn't make it sound that bad, but when I'm actually in that room for 75 minutes of class, I feel like having mental breakdowns. Speaking of mental breakdowns, on the 5th day of school, I went home and broke down crying because I was so uncomfortable. You must think I'm crazy LOL But that's what I did, for about 2 hours straight. My mom got mad of course because she doesn't want me to take applied...but at the same time she didn't want me to become mentally unstable. What do you guys think?

Well, I just started (today) a 14 page piano piece (If played fast, around 8 minutes) and I need it memorized by 3 weeks. I'm playing it for a recital so I must take it to perfection. I'm still in high school, so I have school from 8:30 - 4, and a whole ton of homework... Is there a way to make memorizing music easier?

Well for breakfast I had...

-Two waffles (with syrup). Not soaked up in syrup though.

-An apple

- One glass of milk

Lunch:

- 2 slices of bread with some ham and lettuce

- One glass of juice

- One banana

Dinner:

Rice (pretty big bowl.The size of two or three handfuls of rice? ) I have this everyday.

Vegetables and meat as side dishes. Also around a handful of each.

Snacks:

-Had a pack of ramen (which says 480 calories..ugh)

-Half a box of strawberries

-A smoothie blended with 3 apples and some orange juice.

I tried added it up but it's actually quite a lot.

Like if you watch it online, or download it, and it's poor quality, would that be less GB than a high quality video? I'm trying to download this movie, but I realized that I didn't have enough GB left for Rogers! Just wondering if there's a way to actually still be able to watch the movie :(

I don't know...but I eat ALL the time. When I'm watching TV, I grab an apple, grab a bag of chips, grab a glass of milk. When I'm reading, when I'm using the computer, when I'm going out in the car, when I'm on my way to school. I eat healthy and unhealthy and I gain no weight whatsoever. Literally whenever my hands are free, I'll eat. It's not exactly a habit, I just find food good tasting, is this abnormal? Also, I calculated my calorie consumption for today and it's well over 3000....is it really that bad? I'm female, 5'6, around 90-93 pounds (yes believe it) and am VERY obsessed with getting my work done perfectly and getting perfect grades....

I don't know about your opinions, but for me...I can't see a SINGLE reason to "like" him. I can't believe that there are like 40% of people who agree with him. If this was happening in the real world and this random guy could kill ANYONE he wants to, are there really gonna be 40% of supporters? In the anime I was like, "no way, in real life, there would be 0 supporters..." But after seeing the amount of people who "like" light, I'm shocked. Killing criminals who have gone totally INSANE, is the right thing to do, but don't you think that there are also criminals who have done horrible crimes but want to CHANGE? Killing them won't do anything.

20% of people also say that they like Light's intention but he went crazy. Dude, even if he DIDN'T go crazy, it would STILL be wrong! For someone as smart as Light, how could he think of something so retarded?

Also, for those people who think L is somewhat "dumber" than Light, isn't it because Light had shinigamis, misa AND the actual death notes? L had nothing but himself. Even his so called "team" didn't believe him that Light was Kira. SERIOUSLY, I hope they regreted like hell when they found out that Light was Kira in the end. If they had caught him in the beginning, they could of saved hundreds of people.

Urg, enough of my complaining. Some of you guys answering will perhaps be supporters of Light. I can't even imagine myself reading those answers.

After a long explanation, I managed to understand most of what Light was trying to do with the `confinement`and all that. But after I moved on to the end of the series, I got lost again.

I don`t get anything of how Tadaka and Mikami were related and what they were doing for Light?

WHY did light have to pass his notebook to Mikami anyways?

What exactly were they doing with all the 'confirming' and 'calling each other'? For example, when Takada was about to die in the truck, she had to call Mikami and 'confirm'? How were they connected?

How did Mikami killing Takada give the entire 'plan' away?

Also, how did Near even know the notebook was fake and which one was real? How did he know where to get it?

I may sound stupid...but the subs they gave confused me of everything. I understand how Near actually changed both pages of the notebook....but I don`t know how he got there.

BASICALLY, what was Light's plan to destroy Near?

And what was Near`'s plan? And the bodyguard with Takada, does it have to do with something? And Stephen Loud who went to check out Mikami's locker...

Also, in episode 25, how did Rem find out Light's REAL plan (using Rem to kill L)? L only wanted to test the notebook....how did it give the plan away?

I thought L was fake dying at first...but he actually died O.O

So in my last question, I asked why Light suddenly became innocent. The conversation with Rem was too confusing on the anime so I read the manga. It made more sense.

Light insisted on being captured in a cell until L finds the real Kira. Why did he do this? Then he suddenly he said "I'll forfeit them" on the 7th day of confinement and then he becomes innocent.... why did he do that? And why after 1 week? So he wouldn't be suspected?

Also, during the confinement, Light was captured and the people stopped dying.... did Light PURPOSELY make it that way? And if he did, wouldn't this just prove that he's Kira? Why is he doing that?

Also, when murders started again, and Light was still in confinement, this means he's innocent? HOW? Then is there another Kira or something? I thought he had "forfeited" the death note. What is going on?

Please explain in asimple and easy way to understand yet includes lots of information WHY,

The things about Aname "giving up" Deathnote so she forgets everything. I get that...but then what happened between Rem and Light? Why and HOW did Light suddenly become innocent....or is he?

Buy it: Life's only so long. Enjoy it while we can. If we want something, why should we get frustrated over the price? After all, money can't buy happiness.

Don't buy it: Save up money and try to buy things on the cheaper side. You never know when emergencies are going to happen.

Personally, I'm kinda half-half. Life's only so short so I try to buy things I like, no matter what the price. Like a designer handbag that costed a few hundreds. I still love it to this day. Since I like to spend, I only have a few thousand dollars in my bank, so I'll save sometimes. What about you?

Which do you prefer? I mean, I think being cheap is just a waste of time. Buy whatever you want, afterall, you only get to live so long... But then again...sometimes it's just really hard to go out and get some brand shirt for 200 dollars -.-

I'm now in 8th grade. You may think "Wow, she's so young and she must be exaggerating to make it sound important". I am not. If you don't believe me, you can stop reading right here. Next year I'm going to a high school ranked 3rd out of 800 high schools in my province. That itself is more difficult than I can ever imagine. But then there's IB. This is basically a program that is for students that strive to the top. Sounds pretty easy doesn't it...? It's not even close. In fact, there is so much work, so much HOMEWORK, that some students just drop out. Most students here are able to fit into the top universities in the United States, Ivy Leagues, Princeton etc. Most students can't take it, even the ones with genius brains. It's all about time management. EXTREME time management. The amount of work done in IB is double in a normal high school and exams are 70%, I repeat, 70% of the entire term mark. Believe it. The work will kill me. I'll probably be sleeping at 3 just to do work and I probably won't have good health anymore. All that work is going to take up ALL my time. My current middle school teacher tells us, "if you're aiming for that high school, prepare to lose your social life, prepare to sacrifice". I believe him. I'm not here to complain about how there's endless work. I WANT to go to this high school and I WANT to go to IB. I have piano that I need to practice 2 hours a day, I have Chinese and French classes I take for 3 hours each a week. Homework in both of them exist. If I have that and IB and my ridiculously high ranked high school, I am NOT going to survive. I will not. Sure, I can quit piano anytime I want. But I can't give it up, I've been playing for nearly 5 years now and am about to go on to level 10 piano. As you know, music is the most expensive thing you can ever possible learn (60$ an hour for me) and I've done it for SO LONG. Why should I quit the hobby I love and the beautiful music that makes me happy? Theory and piano, everything together, I can't take it. I CAN'T TAKE IT. I don't know what to do, because I can't give up any of them. I can't just keep trying my best and just putting everything in because I KNOW, I'm CERTAIN that I won't have enough time. There's only so many hours in a day. Like a bottle of water, once it's full, what more can you squeeze in?

Please, give me advice on what I should do. And please, don't tell me to quit my out of school activities because I love them all. My parent's hgave me the option of choosing (after a long fight), and I want to make it clear that I'm going to IB no matter what. I guess that's just who I am. I don't know when to give up. I don't know WHAT to give up. I feel helpless, I'm trying to climb up, but what's the difference if I'm only going to be thrown down again?

I keep trying to watch the finals of the US open on "www.usopen.com" but every time I click "Watch US open now" it says that this stream i not available in my area. What does that mean? I mean, my dad was watching the semi finals on my computer 2 days ago so how come its not working?!?! It's really making me mad. I decided to babysit this summer and I think taking a course and getting a certificate as a proof would get me more kids and more trust. I'm thinking about going to the Red Cross babysitting course. You learn about changing diapers and stuff. But some say CPR is needed and so is first aid. Is there a program that has it all? I don't want to go to 3 different courses.

Okie....so.... This is a easy question that probably a 4th grader would know.

When you say "Did not", is there supposed to be a verb in between "Ne" and "Pas"?

Is it ALWAYS this way?

Example: Je n'ai fait pas mes devors. Is that right?

Or....are "Ne" and "Pas" together? Like this: Je n'ai pas fait mes devoirs?

This is one example but there is another one with the same situation....Is it "Tu n'as pas capté d'arôme fantastique." or "Tu n'as capté pas un arôme fantastique."

The main point of this is to write the opposite of a certain sentence. The original sentence for this is "Tu as capté un arôme fantastique." So whats the opposite of this? It needs "ne pas" in it to make it opposite.

If you need another example: "La femme n'a averti pas le singe." OR "La femme n'a pas averti le singe.

This is really confusing me. If you can help, please do! =D
