I need feedback on my quote for a literature project?
Can you comment on the following quote please? (Your thoughts will be anonymously incorporated in my project)
"As humans we are flawed; therefore it is only natural that our creations also be flawed. Not only is it acceptable for the things in the world we have created to be, to some degree, defective, but it is the only way it they can be. If we as humans attempt to create perfection, we are denying our very own nature and fundaments, thus making us arrogant. Currently, humanity is under the belief that we are greater that what we are meant to be; meaning that we are lying to ourselves and playing an absurd and blasphemous game called pretend-to-be-gods. In the ancient city of Babel, this ideology was severely castigated. In our current society, this arrogance and desire for flawlessness is our greatest weakness, yet our defining characteristic. In the future, this deceitful idea will be our demise."
1 AnswerQuotations7 years agoWhat does this insane dream mean?
It started off in my school with my teacher somehow being a doctor and detecting a fatal and made up illness in me called the gurgles. It affects the stomach area. The gurgles is such a painful illness that suicide is recommended so then my professor/doctor tells me to commit suicide. This aspect of the dream is very dark since he also recommends that we hold a crow feather while we die. I was alright with the idea until the last minute when a goth girl shows up and starts bawling because she does not want to die. As we are approaching the "suicide chambers," I realize that I feel fine and I escape and demand another test to see if I really have the gurgles. I never see my test results but in my dream it is implied that I do have the gurgles since the next thing I dream of is that I find a cure for the gurgles. I go talk to the scientists that have the cure but I am ignored repeatedly. Then I am walking in a forest with all my friends including the goth girl in the beginning of the dream. Then I wake with a feeling that something is utterly wrong.
Some things you should know:
I am have the opportunity to change to an amazing school but I am afraid of change. Of leaving my friends and all of that. The professor that appears in my dream is from my old school. How can the school change be affecting my dream? Another thing I am worried about is the suicide with the raven feather. What can it mean?
Does this dream deal with emotional sickness or physical sickness?
