Why is the brake piston and pad fully retracting when the brake pedal is released?
I just changed the front brake pads on an older model Mazda 300, and when the brake pedal is released, the right side (passenger side) caliper is pulling the brake pad away from the disk further than what I would think would be normal. There's about 1/8 to 1/4 inch of travel. I'm able to move the disk that far with a screwdriver when the brake is released, And the brake pedal goes almost to the floor.
