My father and mother divorced in 1981. My father was a Vietnam Veteran, and they were married during his service. Several people have told my mother that she should be eligible to draw spousal benefits, since she was his spouse at the time of his military service. My mother never remarried. I am trying to find a definitive answer to the question, short of waiting in line at the VA, which I will do if I have to do so. Would she be eligible for benefits?
