Why cant police do anything?
Yesterday, I took in a computer that I have had for six years to police. It had some inappropriate activity involving gang activity in the temporary internet files. I havent used it much, so I was overviewing the windows files. I saw images and videos of gang actvity as well as the history and browsing history. They told me that they cant determine from that far back who owned the computer because the isp address would no longer be active and that they couldnt prove who was on the computer at that time. They said if anything Id be looked at so to dispose of it. Is this accurate?
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics4 years agoI have a virus on computer. Do comp stores use system restore 2 clean it or a factory reset? Whats the difference? Do they wipe the drive?
If they use system restore will that get rid of virus but delete files? If they can do system restore, do they then add anti virus program? Or do they just do a factory reset? Isn't that just wiping and formatting and reinstalling?
