Hi, 

I am 22 yrs old. I live in Edmonton and am moving to Banff for the summer to work. Since I will be working in a restaurant in a hotel, I will be able to live there for a fee of course. 

The place is furnished, but, I will have to provide many things. Like my own dishes and utensils, but I am not sure what else I will need to take. I know it will be more expensive to buy stuff there so I want to take as much with me as I can. 

Does anyone know what kind of things I would need to take?

I have been separated from my husband for 8 months now. We have 2 daughters, one is living with me the other is living with him. Their choice, we keep in touch as we are still friends and still see our girls. I had invited them for Christmas, we were to get together Christmas morning and open gifts, later dinner. However, Christmas morning they opened their gifts at his house before coming over. I thought we were all going to do this together, apparently I was wrong. I was a little hurt by this. Am I wrong to feel this way?

If a bio parent accuses a foster parent of abuse and the child's worker is well aware that the foster parent would not do this and she knows for a fact that the bio parent has mental issues and will try anything to get her child back. Is the worker still obligated to report this to CAS anyway? Ontario, Canada

My kids 14 and 15 are gluten sensitive. However, they are extremely picky eaters.

They don't like most fruits and vegies, only some. I shop for gluten free groceries and make all meals gluten free. But I have a feeling they are going to school and buying the occasional treat (with gluten). Is it ok to have a little or should I tell them that if they are not going to follow the gluten free diet then I will no longer go to the trouble.

My daughter is saying that some of her friends parents are allowing them to have sleepovers with boys. I think that she is making it up, but could it be true?

Maybe I am old school and need to change. I don't know.

If you were to host a house warming party or a baby shower or something, is it best to invite your guests personally (with a phone call or invitation) or will a text message or facebook notice do?

My daughter is now 12 years old. Since she was 10 we have had several girl talks. I always felt that we got along well. However, in the past 2 years she has (against my wishes at such a young age) shaved her eyebrows, shaved her legs, cut her hair (twice), has bullied, and hoards food in her room, always has.

I have talked to friends about this and they say that her behavior is normal for her age. Is this true?

I had 4 sisters, none of who did any of this at such a young age. They have all had girls, and yes they shaved their legs, but when they were 14, not 10.

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this, we've tried all the typical disciplining techniques, but she continues to shock us.

PS. We do not believe in any type of corporal punishment, so please do not even mention it. Thanks

I adopted two girls through the foster care system. They are getting older and I am thinking about their future, college and how on earth I am going to pay for it. I read on here that some states will pay for a child who is adopted from foster care, to go to college.

Can I get government assistance to pay for my children's college fund if they were adopted from the foster care system? And does anyone know where I can get more info on this?

A friend of mine had 2 children, her parental rights had been terminated 10 years ago. The boys are now 12 and 13. They are in foster care and hate it. They have located their mother through facebook. They want to go back and live with her. Do they have that right?

Side note: They all live in Canada.

I need some ideas for a study I am doing. I have asked many people around here where I live, but it is a very small town. Many people are just being sarcastic and saying things like, "it means that I am getting old" I really hope that I can get some honest and thoughtful answers here.
