  • Is the word p..i..s..s.. ofensive?

I just got my answer to a question modified to **** funny when I suggested someting was p..i..s..s.. funny. Is this really offensive? I ask after a judge recently declared calling someone what you call being *****ed by a thorn or needle wasn't considered offensive although I do find that offensive.

  • Slow light in the atmosphere?

No really, I read a short article recently that says they can slow light to the speed of sound in the atmosphere. They plan to use it so that video screens at rock concerts etc don't get ahead of the sound the further you get from the screen. Can anyone explain how they pull this off? Preferably in layman's terms if possible.

  • surge protection for my aerial?

My UPS handles surge protection for my 240V supply and phone line but I've a UPS TV reception dongle that I plug my aerial into and that aerial sits up on my roof inviting lightning strike. I live in an area with the wrolds 3rd highest lightning strike rate. How do I protect my shiny new PC from Ma Nature whilst watching or recording TV?

  • Port locked. Can't find out by what?

I'm using Bit Torrent to download from Legal Bit Torrent Downloads and I can't get my port open. I've tried a couple of bits of software Port Check etc. I'm not using any router and suspect my Vodaphone USB mobile broadband dongle is the problem.

  • The requested operation cannot be perfomed on a file with a user mapped section open.?

I'm running Windows 7 with AVG protection and trying to download from Legal Torrents using Bit-torrent. I've tried disabling AVG (as suggested by a contributor) and still no joy. I've managed to download 700+ Mb and am 97% there but I've had to restart several times to do so and I can't get the last little bit.
