  • What s the best position for me in football (soccer)?

    What I CAN do

Read a player well, I can judge how much space I can afford to give them on the field and mark well and judge which players are used for important moves up the field.

I m usually one of the tallest and fastest players on which ever team I join

I can clear a ball easily

I m aggressive especially with 50/50 balls and getting possession back.

    Things I can t so

Haha run constantly (I m a sprint wonder, I can go flat out down the field if I need to but then I ll need a good breather to suck in that air)

Dribbling skills are pitiful (admit I barely train with dribbling I find it boring even though I know it s important)

I overthink if I have too many people giving me direction especially if I ve already set my kind on how I m going to handle a situation.. I end up screwing it up after that.

I m usually put in as a full back however there have been times where I ve been put up the front, and I usually have taken note that I m only up the front if the other teams defensive line is too strong to get a break through.

  • Soccer/football need desperate advice!?

So it's obvious I play soccer/football. I'm a defender right field and I'm starting to feel discouraged.

I will first explain why. I play for a ladies team just so everyone knows. We have had a few new players join this season, those few are quite incompetent to put it nicely. We have some of the good players or seasoned players at the back with me but they have all seemed to have lost the plot and doing to typical "lets crowd the ball and bunch up and let the ball pass" at this time I'm left to not only be a winger on the right but also defend the entire back field! I'm also forced too mark at least three players at any given point in the game. I'm frustrated and stressed. We are coming up to our last trial game before the official kick off next weekend. I don't have the balls to say anything to my coach as I don't feel I know enough to have the respect from him if I say something. For now I'm left picking up all the crap from my teams mates deserting their positions! I'm not the type to give in and let the ball go around me just because its not my job. I need advice. Preferably someone who knows what it's like to be in my position and how they dealt with it. I'm starting to not enjoy the games and I'm full of nerves leading up to each game!
