All around knowledge from life's many experiences. Earned BS Degree in Biology (Botany) with a Minor in Environmental Studies at the New York State Univerisity College of Arts and Sciences at Geneseo New York. Founder of local Chapter of Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity while at Geneseo State. Worked for over 22 years at the Social Security Administration as a Systems Tech Expert. I have many Hobbies: I collect Antiques (mostly old Christmas - especially those from the 1950's). I love to do gardening, but these past few years it's been difficult because of my disabilities. I owned two Jack Russells Terriers - Murphy (Tailwagger) and Scamper (Here and There). Murphy walked the Rainbow Bridge in 2/2006 at 15 years old. Scamper is still with us at 11.5 years old. He still looks like a puppy and he's my buddy. I also have a backyard pond. In it I have 5 Koi, 12 Goldfish, a multitude of Rosey Red Minnows, and many plants. I meditate and pray sitting on a bench there.

  • What did the hospitals do with Stillborn babies in the 1950s?

Today when a woman has a stillborn baby, most often the stillborn baby is treated as a deceased infant; its turned over to a funeral home (of the family's choosing) and the parents and families have a burial ceremony for the infant.

But back in 1952, my mother gave birth to a near term stillborn baby boy. After she gave birth, the birthing team whisked the stillborn away from her, only showing it to my Dad for a few moments.

So, I'm asking, what did the Hospitals do with stillborn babies back in the early 1950s?????? What happened to them? Did they turn them over to medical schools for research?

The reason I ask is the my mother is now 78 years old. After all these years, 56 to be exact, she still thinks of her first born son, the boy she never got to see. The boy for which she never got Closure.

So if anyone can answer this, please let me know.

Oh - the hospital was I believe, Totowa General Hospital in Totowa, New Jersey. And if not there, it was Paterson General Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey.

    Thanks so much,

  • Anyone find a credit card charge for $9.87 from a digital photograph company called IMAGLOBUS.COM?

I found a fishy charge on my December Credit card bill - was from a company called IMAGLOBUS.COM. It was for $9.87. I wrote to them - they said someone used my card number to buy a subscription back in December and gave me the ISP number. I told them it wasn't me and they promised to refund. It seemed fishy so I did a web search. Got hits on FatWallet.com - that lots of people getting hit with fraudulent charges from this company and related company - tempglobus. Seems they got ahold of our account numbers somehow and charged amounts under 10.00 hoping people would overlook them.

So - check your credit card statements - more and more people are reporting charges in December and January.

    Did they get you??????

  • Why does Everyone who Sees someone Yawn, Yawn themselves?

I've been wondering about this for years and never found an answer. When I see a person yawn, I usually yawn. Then when somebody sees me yawn they yawn. It's like it's catching.

There's even a new commercial on television by one of the Cola makers that hammer it home. It's a hoot watching everyone yawn and yawn - except this one guy who's drinking that brand.

But anyway - I've noticed this reaction since I was young - and others have too.

So, does anyone know what causes it?

Please no spammers or stupid answers. Lets have some real thoughts on why this happens.

    Thanks,

    Ken
