  • Slipped disc and the hospital is sending her home?

My friend was taken into hospital with a slipped disc. It would appear that the disc has actually popped out so she cant walk at all. Yet the hospital are discharging her tomorrow. She has 4 young children, lives in a house with stairs which she cant climb and she is normally very active and fit. Is this right or can she demand to have something done.

They refuse to operate by the way.

    This is in the UK

  • How can you legally evict an unwanted tenant?

This is a UK matter. Only British Law will apply. I was having a conversation with an acquaintance who told me that he has a tenant living in a 3 bedroom house who has stopped paying rent now for over a year. He has caused damage to the internal doors, he has also committed crimes by applying and receiving credit cards in the landlord's name, claimed benefits in his brother's name and a number of other small crimes also, which have been reported to the police but they have refused to do anything about it. This tenant refuses to leave. If the landlord attends the premises to carry out general upkeep/maintainance to the property he intervenes. He causes leaks in the bathroom and has bullied and harassed other tenants who have all now left the premises. The Landlord seeked legal advice from both CAB and a solicitor. Was advised to remove the tenants belongings from the premises but he then took them to court and was told he had to be reinstated as he was removed unjustly or something. There is no tenancy agreement and since he has stopped paying rent in cash the rent book is not being used. Does anyone have any advice to offer as to how they can legally get rid of this tenant.

  • College students getting ready for uni and have just been expelled?

Some 20yr old students in a classroom chatting at the end of class. Tutor stepped out for a moment and said she was coming back. 2 of them had a basketball. One past it to the other for it to be put away. This was seen by a tutor passing. She stepped in and asked them where was their tutor, to which they replied she had stepped out. The passing tutor went to the staff room next door. 2 of the students had left by this time, and the remainder where accused of playing basketball. They were given no opportunity to explain what was going on, but the tutor and her accomplice accused them of playing with the ball and could have broken a projector. They were all expelled on the spot. My questions are.Can they be expelled without being heard? Isnt there a tier system, i.e. warnings then expellation? Can they appeal? Especially when the remaining few never handled the ball, but the 2 that left did and as was said had one had past to the other for that person to put away.

  • What happens when your child is due to hit uni?

In August this year my son will no longer be a dependent and will be going to uni in September/October. I work part time and am aware that all the child benefit and components in the working/child tax credits will disappear. Does anyone have any idea what i am likely to be left with financially once this happens. Would i still be entitled to working tax credit? I'm almost 50 and i also look after my mum.

  • What could these symptons be?

My mum has been complaining about pains in her left shoulder and arm for about 3-4 weeks now. Also weakness in her hand also. She's elderly, has a number of other health problems but is a stroke victim of almost 20 yrs. She thinks it could be related to a heart attack? Does anyone have an idea what it could be? Sensible answers only, thank you!

  • Help me change my mindset on this?

So many women i know have travelled abroad on holiday and fallen, madly deeply (more mentally madly) in love with a guy there. And subsequently travelled back and called several times to be with them. A couple have married and are miserable and on the verge of splitting up. Others have spent fortunes in calls and airmiles. I'm a cynic, i have this view that guys abroad when you're on holiday are like forbidden fruit and not to be trusted. Is it me or are these women amazingly desperate?

  • Hitting 50 and my skin's going crazy??

I need some advice here. I'm almost 50 and until now have had perfect skin, no blemishes, hardly ever had a spot. But recently its become extremely oily and get alot of spots now around my nose and on my chin. Its annoying and pretty upsetting and i have no idea what to do about it. I've never had a real beauty regime, wash just with water, as soaps dry my skin out. What can i do, what products should i use? Does anyone else have this problem?

  • Police to the rescue... Like hell!!!!????

My mother who is 70 heard someone trying to in through her kitchen window after mid-nite last nite, which obviously startled her and she called the police. She called me directly afterwards and i immediately left, and got to her within 5mins (drive) armed with a hammer. When i got there were signs of an attempt. 45mins later and still no police. Today still no officer or a call to ensure that she's ok and safe. This is absolutely disgusting. Regardless of whether or not the person got in the police force havent responded. It may seem to some i am over-reacting, but to think she lives alone and for all the police know totally isolated and without family or friends, they havent checked to see if this woman is lying dead in her home. What is it with our so glorified police that its ok for them to totally disregard the call of a distressed woman but harrass some, often innocent, people on the road. Or worse still... prefer to sit in the office with a cup of tea?

I've just been offered a fab part time long term temporary position, but the hours will be anything between 14 and 22 hrs per week. I'm a single mum and the hourly rate is above the minimum wage. For all the advice from the relevant agencies, i have no idea what i will be entitled to and this is a littlel worrying. Please, if anyone has actively returned to work in a similiar situation i'd appreciate some advice on what to expect. Any professionals/benefit advisors.. explain in 'pig-english' lol, thanx!!

  • Has anyone heard of Customer Support Centre Robot?

I just got an email from Customer Support Centre Robot claiming this:-

Our robot has detected an abnormal activity from your IP adress

on sending e-mails. Probably it is connected with the last epidemic

of a worm which does not have official patches at the moment.

We recommend you to install this patch to remove worm files

and stop email sending, otherwise your account will be blocked.

Now does anyone know if this is for real or a hoax. Found in my junk mail box

  • OMG DNA from new borns??

Is this country going crazy or what?? I heard today they want to start up a database of dna from new born babies so if they commit a crime in later life that it will be easier to arrest and charge them. So, that means your child is already a criminal without having said its first word. Dont you think thats crazy? Cos, i am absolutely certain that in the long run, that wont be all its for. And please dont give me that babble about 'if you dont have anything to hide you shouldnt worry' AND 'well i'd sleep better in my bed if i knew they'd have the criminals locked up', cos thats not all this is about. Big Brother has you by the short curlies, dont you think? Well do you think its acceptable?
