  • Can a manufactuer refuse to honor their warranty if the product was purchased from an un-authorized dealer?

I purchased a cooking appliance online from a big shopping website. When I had a problem and I contacted the manufacturer they told me they would not honor the warranty because I purchased the item from an un-authorized retailer.

Their warranty that came with the item doesn't say anything of the sort! (see below)

Can they refuse to honor their own warrinty based on a term that is not written in their warrinty to refuse it?

    I'm located in the U.S.

  • Does heating vinegar, as a solvent for extraction, make it more potent?

I know that in cleaning, for example, it is always advised to heat vinegar to make it more potent. Is this also true when using vinegar to extract say a waxy substance like capsaicin from peppers? Or is temperature irrelevant to its effectiveness?

    Thanks!

  • Up to what temperature can you heat a food can, like a soup can, before it can explode?

Can I heat a closed can to warm-up the food inside without any danger? And if so, what is the maximum temperature?

  • Is Miss Vickie 's pressure cooker...dead?

I've been referring to her website, and looking at her forums but her account says that she has not been online for two years (http://miss-vickie--pressure-cooker-recipes.u.yuku... and her website hasn't been updated in three!

Even her biography on amazon has not been updated since 2010 (http://www.amazon.com/Vicki-Smith/e/B001JSDE5K/ref... She refers to her 2008 cookbook being published "two years" ago.

I see on amazon that she has a new cook-book coming out (http://amzn.to/XVAsFy).. but it seems really odd that someone who has been online and very active in PC cooking for the last 10 years is not active AT ALL for the last two.

Also, I sent an email a few days ago asking how to purchase something and give her credit. No answer.

Anyone know where she went? Is her new cook-book being... ghost-written?

I see from her profile that she is an older lady, and hope she is still "with us".

    Paging Miss Vickie!!
