  • Anyone have an experience with a soft marker at 20 week ultrasound?

I have been told they found a soft marker at my 20 week scan, showing a thickened nuchal fold. They apparently found no others. Nothing abnormal was seen at my first ultrasound at 10 weeks. Anyone have a similar experience? How did it turn out?

  • At what age were your babies using a spoon?

I have a 17month old daughter who we have been working with trying to get her accustomed to a spoon. Obviously, most of the time it is launched across the room, or she just uses her hands. She hates to be fed by us or anyone for that matter. I am just curious to see how other's children responded to a spoon, and what age this skill was mastered.

Any tips also would be appreciated! Thx!

  • baby pushing the limits?

Do other people experience a crabby baby with themselves (the parents) and always hear that they are perfect little angels at daycare or with other babysitters and family members? My 15month old over the last couple of months has seemed to become very clingy, whiny, throwing tantrums, not sleeping etc. More often than not she is irritable. She has nothing wrong with her, checked with the doctor. My husband and I are at our wits end right now. We have been trying everything as we try to be very attentive parents. Does anyone else experience things like this???

  • What are ridges on babies gums?

Ok, my 6month old appears to be teething for the last month or so. Her gums are very hard, sometimes white and sometimes red. I have heard about ridges on the gums from everyone, but with different explanations of what these ridges are. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to look for when people say ridges? I have been confused by so many! On her upper gums I can almost feel a bump where her tooth would appear, but nothing on the bottom. Anyway, still confused about the infamous "ridges" Any explanation would be appreciated.

  • Problems with napping and night waking in 5month old baby?

My 5 month old has never been a good sleeper, but no matter how tired she is, when put down for a nap, she always wakes up within 30-35min, but still tired and rubbing her eyes. It seems to me that she just wants me to be there. I don't understand why she always wakes up after that short amount of time if she's so tired. She's fed, clean diaper etc. She always wakes up alot during the night too. Not to eat so much, but just awake. She can fall asleep on her own too so that's not the issue. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this. The night waking is becoming a little old so I am looking for any reasonable suggestions, especially if yours was somewhat similar.

  • Breastfed baby with no poop in 5 days?

I realize that this is normal for a breastfed baby, especially now that she is just about 10 weeks. My problem is that since she has been doing this (since about 7 weeks when she was pooping every other day), now at 9 weeks she has gone 4-5 days without pooping and seems very uncomfortable. The longer she goes between poops, the gassier and more fussy she has become. She cries on and off with gas pain and this is so rare for her. She will be smiling and laughing one minute, and then crying and fussing the next, only to have some gas pass, or i'm guessing some cramps too. Is this something to worry about? My doctor just said to give her juice diluted with water, but she won't take the bottle at all. Not sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Time between nursing my newborn?

When determining how long between feedings my 3week old baby wants to nurse, is it from the time the feeding started to the next nursing session, or is it from the end of the nursing to the beginning of the next. I am seeing both on the internet and I am confused since it makes a significant difference in how long she wants to go between feedings. Thanks for any help you can offer!

  • Induction at 40 weeks?

why won't doctors induce at 40 weeks?? My doctor said she'll let me go until 41 weeks, and then make an appointment for the following week for an induction if necessary. I don't think I can make it another 2 weeks!! I can't even walk I am so swelled up. Even my thighs and calves are swollen. I don't have preeclampsia or anything, just ginormous cankles.

  • Anyone Gone over 40 Weeks?

Just wondering how many first time mothers went overdue. I am just around the corner from 40weeks and soooooo uncomfortable. I keep having irregular crampy braxton hicks, but it never progresses. I haven't lost my plug yet that I know of. Just curious how many women experienced something similar.

  • Is this normal for baby's position?

It seems that my baby is laying on the right side of my belly all of the time. Its been like this for quite some time. The right side of my belly is very very hard, and I feel all of the baby's movement on this side, and hardly any on the left side. I also don't feel kicks or movement up high near my ribs. Is this normal? Has anyone else had an experience like this?? My belly looks really full on the right side.

I am 31 weeks and measuring at 33 weeks. Does this mean that my baby is at 33 weeks development, or is this just how large my uterus is??

  • Baby movement at 29 weeks?

I am 29 weeks and find that one week she is really active and kicking out to my sides and pushing up above my belly button. The next week it is a lot of deep and very low kicks. Sometimes it feels like she is kicking my cervix!! Does this sound normal?? What kind of movements are you feeling?

Sometimes I can feel where she is in my belly. Its very hard and I can push down on her, and she pushes back. Other times, it just seems like I'm bouncing her with my fingers (if that makes any sense) What do you all think?
