Hello all, I have a 2001 L200 with about 163,000 miles. I have kept up with regular maintenance oil changes etc.

About two weeks ago I was driving home and when I pulled into my driveway my car shut off like I had removed the key from the ignition. I tried to start it back up and the engine just shook and then stopped. I tried for a second time with turning the headlights on and the engine cranked the dash lights came on the everything went off (dash and headlights).

I replaced the fuel pump last year and the alternator belt about 6 months ago. It has a half tank of gas. Can anyone help me? BTW I'm you average woman (aka car illiterate) so can you please explain it to me like I was a child. Thanks for your papatience and help!

I have a 2001 Saturn L200. It had a non working JVC kd-r210 when I purchased it. I have a long commute to work and needed a inexpensive stereo so I installed a dual xr4115 and used Metra wiring harness 70-2002. After connecting all the wires the unit powers on but I only get sound from the right rear speaker and that sounds far away and fuzzy. I took it apart checked the fuses removed the negative cable from the car battery and still the same problem. Could it be the speaker are blown? I'm kind of illiterate when it comes to cars so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've been working at my job in Chicago for about a year now. January 10, 2011 I got promoted. The promotion comes with medical insurance, and vacation time. I went through two weeks of training. My training was completed on January 24, 2011. During my first week after training I asked my head manager about the paper work concerning my benefits and was told he would get right on it. I have asked several times and I always got the same answer. Last week I found out that a co-worker who was promoted a week after I was and to the same job as me had already signed his paper work. When I ask how I was told to ask the new boss because the old one had been transferred. I asked the new one and got the same answer.

I am going to request everything in writing and see what will be done. I have overheard my bosses complaining that I'm being too much of a pest by asking about this everyday. My question is does anyone know how I how I can handle this in a civil way? I'm really thinking about going to the Department of Labor and reporting this.

About five months I took a second job at a big box store. Shortly after I started I was put on the graveyard shift made up of 6 people. (I made number 6 and only woman) I made $2 more an hour. Everyone had to go through the same steps and training to get on the shift and everyone had the same duty. About one week after I started the shift the guy who trained me got promoted. He went from the graveyard shift to his new position. Three weeks ago I found out that I had gotten a promotion.

Two weeks ago when I looked at the schedule I saw that I was taken off the graveyard shift where now instead of a ten hour shift I would have a four hour day shift. One week ago a guy who also works the graveyard shift and has been there for about a year longer than me got same promotion as me ( there were two slots open) but he will go into his new position.

When I ask the bosses why no one can tell me why. I get "Well I don't know ask another manager") My question is; Is this legal? Is it because I'm a woman, or am I just making something out of nothing?

I have known this guy for about fifteen years now. Three months ago we became friends with benefits. Our set up is like this; We text each other when we want to hook up,decide who's house it will be at,do the deed and leave. Everything was fine until about three weeks ago. He started asking me do I think about him,what I think about him, who else am I seeing ,why don't I talk to him like I talk to our other mutual friends etc.

I have had to reminded him that we are only fwb and that what we do when we are not together is our own business. He gets angry when I do that. I know that I'm not his only fwb so why does he care what I do? I have asked him what his deal is and he just shakes his head and walks away. I'm starting to get really sick of him. So my question to you guys is what the hell is his problem? Does he want more from me or does he just not want me with anyone else?

I started a new job in August1,2010 ,and I have been having a big problem with one very loud coworker. It started when I had the interview for the job. The interview had the head manager , one of the many assistant manager and three employees (one from each shirt). The interview went really well. The problem started when I was asked by the head manager "What are your goals , and why should we hire you?" I told him that my goal was to "One day to have his job,and to have the knowledge that he has." The head manager like my answer.

After he jokingly told me that it takes a lot of hard work and time but someday he thinks I might be able to get it he asked me what my immediate goals were. I told him I would like to be on the over night shift. The coworker that was from the overnights told me that it's a lot of hard work and that she is the "she has been on the job for six years and is the only female she knows who can do it" The head manager than told me I would have to work my way to the night shift. I left it alone and figured that after six months I would ask again.

A week later she "confronted me" and told me she thought I was to "cocky" because "you don't come in some place and try to take people's jobs." I explained to her that I am not looking to step on people to get what I want but I was asked a question and answered it. Two weeks later I looked at the schedule and I was moved to overnights, and she was moved to days.

Now the coworker talks about me like a dog to other workers says things like 'She must know the head manager" or "who is she sleeping with?" She has gotten so bold that other managers have asked me what was up with me and her. When she talks I act like she doesn't exist. But she is becoming more bold with her statements,and I know that if she says anything to me again it's not going to be pretty.

So my questions Is what should I do? Should i continue to ignore her or take it to the head manager so that we can have a meeting?

I just started a second job as a cashier/clerk a a chain grocery store in Chicago three weeks ago. Yesterday we had a store meeting and were told that the employees had to paint the whole store from top to bottom. When I accepted the job I was told that my duties were to be cashiering ,stocking shelf's,and getting carts. I looked in the employee hand book and it says nothing about the job description just the rules,and regulations.(Sexual Harassment Workman's Comp things like that) I don't have a contract it is employment at will. Let me just say I don't mind doing it but do I have to?

To day I received letter saying that I have to attend a meeting about my fourth grade daughter concerning a Individualized Education Program. I had no idea what that was ( the letter had nothing but a meeting place,time and who would attend) so I looked it up on the internet. I found out that in Illinois that Individualized Education Programs are for children who are disabled. I know and acknowledges that she does take speech therapy for a slight lisp (only on wards that begin with the letter "s") , but is that enough for her to be disabled? I don't want her taking a space from a child who really needs it. She has been on the honor roll for the last 5 years (K-4) attends regular classes and does not have and behavior problems. I would like if anyone could explain it to me.

I am a guard who was filling in for another guard on a post when I was told to lift a two security gates. (The kind you see at a parade.) This was not my first time filling in on this post ( I've filled in about 20 times over 2 years) and never have I been asked to do this or when trained for this post told that I would have to lift gates. The guard I was filling in for does not do this. The gates were always moved by grounds keeping. When I said no that I would hurt myself if I were to lift one I was written up for being "insubordinate in action and tone". I was told that my "blanket response of no was inappropriate" The guard that asked me to pick up the gates is a man about 6 feet tall and 200lbs. I am a woman 5 feet tall and 100 lbs. There is no way i could have picked up one let alone two. My boss then told me that the head of grounds keeping told her that they were light enough for me to lift . I don't understand how I could get in trouble for something that I did not have to do. Can someone please help me because this sounds like it's illegal. Do I need to speak to a lawyer? Thank you.

First of all my job dosent have a grievance board or a union so whatever they say goes. They seem to think that this allows them to do anything to the employees. They lie and make unreasonable demands. We have to go through them in order to get to our Human Resource Specialist. Needless to say we never get through. When we try to go to our Human Resource on our own we never get to see the appropriate people.I am looking for any agency that we can go to and be heard. Is it illegal for your Human Resource Specialist to turn you down. I always thought that they were there to mediate any problems. Are there any specific type of lawyers that we can get to represent us? Do we have rights even though we are not unionized?

I was accused of saying negative things about my bosses by co-workers.I asked to face my accusers but was told no.Do I have the right to face them?I also privately taped the conversation.Can I sue and how?This job has no grievance board, and frankly dont care how they treat people.How do I go about suing them.This is a world renowned institution. Who can I bring in to talk to the other employees who are treated badly but are afraid to talk for fear of losing their jobs.I am stressed everyday on this job because the accusers know that they can accuse me of anything and get away with it.I was out spoken because someone had the same job description as me but was doing little to no work. This person got the job the wrong way and cant do any of the things that I can do.This place is full of relative hires.I would love to put this institute on the news.Our employee relations office is a joke,if you talk to them about something they give the person the heads up so they have a ready answer.
