  • Do you think we should stay together?

My boyfriend and I have been together for a few years. I am having second thoughts on the relationship, mainly because he is sure that he someday wants kids and I am fairly certain I don't. I love my boyfriend very, very much, but I am unsure if proceeding in this relationship is the right thing to do.

    What do you think?

  • Was it wrong of me to ask my professor for a letter of recommendation?

Here's my situation: I am a college student, considering transferring to a larger school. I intend on staying at my current college, but I figured I would apply to another school just for the heck of it. Why not?

I am at the top of my class and am well-liked by my professors. I am my favorite professor's best student, and he has done much for me, from creating a scholarship for me to going out of his way to help me get an internship.

In order to apply to this new school, a letter of recommendation is needed, and I asked my favorite professor to write me a letter. He said he would happily do so.

Was it wrong of me to ask my professor for a letter of recommendation? I am afraid that after all he has done for me, letting him know of my intent to apply to another school could have been insulting to him. By letting them know I'm considering transferring, do you think I have ruined my relationship with my professors?

  • Should I go to this wedding or should I take my final exams?

I'm very close to my cousin who is getting married on a Monday in May. My final exams are scheduled during the time of her wedding (I'm a college student). Should I annoy my professors and ask them to let me take the exams another time, or should I take the exams at the proper time and skip the wedding?

I would like to be there for my cousin's wedding, but it is also very important to me to be able to take my exams on time. What should I do?

  • I dreamed I was in love with a man who is not my boyfriend?

I love my boyfriend very much. Last night I had a dream in which my boyfriend existed, but I was deeply in love with another man. I do not know who this man is, but I saw him in the dream and actually felt love for him. The dream was very rich in emotion for this man.

This dream was strange and shocking. What could this possibly mean?

  • This is a dealbreaker, isn't it?

My mom is dying in the hospital-- she is slowly losing her battle with cancer. Of all the people I've looked to for support, my boyfriend seems to care the least. He's really not trying to console me or my family at all. Upon finding out that my mother was in the hospital again, I called him in tears, and when I told him that I was very upset, his reply was "I bet!". He has not called to check up on me. The only time he called was right before he went into work--we talked for 1 minute and 22 seconds before he indicated that he had to go.

Complete strangers have comforted me more than my own boyfriend has. He's not even trying. I love him, but if he can't comfort me during the hardest time of my life, then that's a very bad thing. It's a dealbreaker, isn't it?

  • Things to do when my boyfriend visits?

My boyfriend doesn't mind coming over my house, but when he does, it's always a bit awkward because my parents make a big deal of him coming over-- they straighten up the house and make big dinners (He is my first boyfriend). It seems unnatural and not very relaxed, and I think my boyfriend feels a bit uncomfortable visiting. For this reason, I mainly spend time with my boyfriend at his house.

Both my family and my boyfriend are very important to me, and I like having my boyfriend over because my family needs to get used to him. Do you have any suggestions as to how to make my house less awkward for him? Can you suggest something we could do at my house to make things seem more natural? (I'm 20 and he's 24).

  • In your opinion, is it bad if I asked him to call me?

We're "casually dating" and I sent him a text message saying:

"If you have nothing better to do and are in the mood for aimless phone chatter, hit me up!"

  • Poll: Should I live on campus next year?

I'm a first year college student and commuting is awful!

I really want to live on campus next fall but the costs are discouraging.

    Is it worth it?

  • Living on campus: Is it worth the debt?

I am currently a first year college student (I commute from home).

My school is mainly residential and I really want to live there next fall.

I have been able to see all that I am missing out on by living at home.

I know I would have a blast as a resident student, but the costs of living there are scaring me a bit!

Is it worth the extra debt?

  • What do you think he wants to talk about?

We're dating and he wants to "have a little chat."

He says I don't have to worry about this conversation, but he's worried I may think he is very eccentric after he tells me the things that have been on his mind.

  • What could this mean?

The guy I've been dating wants to have a little chat to "say some things on his mind that need to be said."

I am very anxious to hear what he has to say, and I made him aware of this.

He said he's worried I may think he is very eccentric after this talk, but he doesn't think I need to worry.

What could he possibly want to tell me?
